Part 376
Billy opened the door to the penthouse suites, and the girls headed straight for the couch, collapsing wearily.
"Oh my god," Becca groaned, "this feels soooo good."
"Uh huh," Sarah agreed.
"I'm hungry," Jesse announced.
Becca opened one eye and sighed. "Jesse, didn't you eat dinner?"
"Of course she ate dinner," Sarah smirked. "This is normal for my growing girl, right Jess?"
"Okay, tell you what," Becca said sitting up slowly. "It's slumber party time." She held up a hand as Jesse began to squeal and jump around excitedly. "Shh! If you wake up Garrett we can't party. Jesse, let's go get you a bath in my room while your mommy takes a shower in hers. We'll meet back out here in …. oh … half an hour. Sound like a plan?"
"Bec, you're sure?" Sarah asked.
"Of course I'm sure. Jesse, you go get undressed while I call room service. I'm going to order all the fixings for ice cream sundaes. But one rule."
Jesse stopped and looked back.
"After we eat, it's right into bed with you. Your mommy and I need some time tonight."
"Okay Aunt Becca," she grinned and skipped off into Nick and Becca's bedroom.
As planned, thirty minutes later all three were cuddled on the couch, hair still damp, all in their pajamas and looking like a scene straight out of a Disney movie. Ice cream and all the toppings had been delivered and they were digging into the gooiest looking concoctions anyone had ever seen.
"Oh god, this is heaven," Becca sighed, spooning more hot fudge on her French vanilla ice cream and then licking the spoon.
Sarah watched her and giggled when Becca moaned, wrapping her tongue around the utensil. "Nice tongue technique, Bec," she snorted.
"If only you knew," Becca retorted, pointing her spoon at Sarah and winking.
"Oh now THAT'S a pretty picture, Bec, " Sarah grinned. "I really don't need to think of your tongue anywhere near-"
"Uh uh," Becca, said, pointing at Jesse. "Don't go there."
Sarah grinned. "So how long until you can-"
"Twenty-eight days, four hours…."
"Anxious much?" She laughed as Becca stuck out her tongue.
"Yes, dammit," Becca scowled. "Change the subject."
"Poor baby!" Sarah laughed. "Don't tell me you're really going to wait the entire six weeks?"
"Yes, I am. I can do this, I'm strong." She whimpered. "I think."
Sarah was laughing so hard tears were welling up in her eyes.
"Aunt Becca?"
"What Jesse?"
"Here," she said, tossing a spoonful of cherries into Becca's ice cream dish.
"Wait! Ick!" Becca shrieked. "Jesse, thank you, but I don't like cherries."
"You don't? Uncle Nicky does. I heard him talking to Uncle AJ once and-"
Sarah was rolling in hysterics now, and every time she looked over at Jesse and Becca's faces, she lost it again.
"Fruit, Sarah," Becca said with a glare. "She was talking about FRUIT, you dweeb."
"I dunno, Bec-" she laughed. "Somehow I don't think that's what Nick was discussing with AJ." She began to giggle all over again.
"God, you're so juvenile." Becca rolled her eyes and as Sarah wiped the tears from hers, something on her hand caught the light. "Sarah, what's that?" Becca asked.
"What, Bec?" Sarah reached for a napkin to blow her nose on, and as she did she made a honking sound, which sent Jesse into a giggle fit, too.
"On your finger. It looks like-" Becca leaned forward and took Sarah's hand. "It is!" she exclaimed. "It's a class ring! Sarah, you didn't tell me you were going steady." Becca giggled as Sarah blushed.
"Isn't it great?" she sighed. "Howie gave it to me in LA."
"That's so sweet," Becca said, sighing as well. "Howie loves you so much, Sarah."
"I know, Bec. There are days when that's all I have to get me through."
"Like today."
"Yeah, like today." Sarah leaned her head back and closed her eyes, and Jesse scooted over under her arm to snuggle. Without opening her eyes, Sarah whispered, "Jesse, we need to get you in bed."
Jesse yawned, and that was their cue to break up the party.
"Sarah, I'll clean up the mess while you get Jesse settled in for the night."
"Sounds like a plan, sis. Come on, Jess."
Jesse yawned again, hugged Becca goodnight and wandered off behind Sarah. Becca had most everything all put away, and had pulled out two bottles of water to wash away the sweetness.
