Part 400

"All right dudes, let's rock and roll!" Nick burst through the door of his bus, followed closely by Kevin. "Bec?"

"Shh! I just got Garrett to sleep," she whispered, coming out of the sleeping area in her nightgown. Looking past Nick and seeing Kevin appraising her with his eyes, she caught her breath and made a futile attempt to cover herself.

"Hey Bec," Kevin smiled. "Are you sure this is ok? I don’t want to mess up Garrett's routine."

"No, no, of course it's okay. I just, um, I guess I forgot that you were riding with us tonight." As if, she thought to herself with an inward groan. "Can I get you guys something?"

"I'm gonna go change first," Nick said. "Be right back." With a quick kiss for his wife, he slipped past her into the bathroom where he pulled out his comfy sweatpants and old ratty t-shirt. They may look bad, but they'd gotten him through many a cold lonely night on the road. As he joined Kevin and Becca, he wondered at the strange _expression on Becca's face as she talked with Kevin. Shrugging it off, he pulled a couple of bottles of water from the fridge, tossing one at Kevin.

"Um, you guys excuse me for a minute, I'll be right back." Becca tiptoed in to check on Garrett, and while she was there, pulled on a robe to cover herself a little better. While she was gone, Nick and Kevin were trying to figure out what was wrong with her.

"You think she knows what you're up to?" Nick asked.

"Maybe," Kevin shrugged, "but I think adding her to Sarah's set will be great. I know she doesn't want to get into performing, but for the remainder of the tour it would be a perfect addition to the show."

"What would be a perfect addition to the show?" Becca asked, sitting down by Nick and threading her fingers through his. She smiled as she felt Nick rub his thumb over the top of her hand. It was just a little thing, but she loved it when he did that.

"Baby, Kevin wants you to sing with Sarah."

"No."

"Bec, not an entire set, just maybe add another duet. A solo would be fantastic, but I know you're not entirely into this." Kevin leaned forward as he spoke to Becca, his elbows on his knees.

"Kevin-" Becca shook her head, cringing at the can of worms she'd opened by going on stage in the first place.

"Think of all the publicity for the foundation, Becca," Nick reminded her.

"That's not fair, Nick," she frowned.

Nick grinned. "All's fair in-"

"Don't even try that. Nick, I just don’t know," she sighed, shaking her head.

"Nick, Howie sings with Sarah, why don't you two work something out? The fans would eat it up."

"Kev, that's a great idea! Bec? Baby, what do you think?"

"I think you've both lost your minds."

"But you're thinking about it, right?" Nick leaned over to nuzzle her neck and smiled when she shivered.

"Niiiick…" she whimpered, not seeing the grin on Kevin's face.

"Bec, I really wish you'd do this," Kevin said, his voice dropping to a soft pleading whisper.

Oh god, Becca thought, Nick's lips and Kevin's damn sexy voice. I'm doomed. "You're not playing nice," she pouted.

"Who's playing?" Kevin asked. When he saw the look on Becca's face he laughed softly.

"Look, this is something we'd all love to see you do, but if you're really not comfortable then say so. Think about it and we’ll talk some more before the next show."

"I-" Just then, the bus hit a pothole and her train of thought was lost as Garrett began to cry. "Damn," she sighed. "I'm going to go back and settle him down. Nick, don't stay up too late." Lovingly she caressed his face before kissing him sweetly.

"Nah, I'll be in in a few."

"Good night Bec. Sleep sweet," Kevin said, smiling as she blushed.

Picking up the baby, Becca lay down with him in their bed. She stroked his downy hair with her fingertips, and as she sang softly to him he yawned. His eyes began to drift shut, and as he drifted off to sleep, Becca sighed and closed her eyes.

True to his word, Nick followed shortly, but Becca was already sound asleep. Stripping down to his boxers, he carefully crawled into bed with her and spooned up against her back. She was soft and warm, and as he worked his knee between her thighs she sighed and moved back against him. Nick groaned softly, his body betraying him like it always did when he was within three hundred yards of his wife. Gently he pressed his semi-hard penis against her, taking small comfort in the slight relief it afforded him.

Becca sighed in her sleep as Nick wrapped his arm around her and pressed his face into her hair. "Damn," he groaned. He wanted to roll her over, rip off her gown and- "Three weeks. I’ll never make it," he cursed under his breath and turned over onto his back.

He finally drifted off to sleep, completely missing the classic moment when Becca smiled in her sleep and mumbled, "’Night Kevin."

With the decision to send Jesse home and arrangements for Pollyanna to fly to Portland made, Howie and Sarah became increasingly attentive. Each morning, Sarah found a way to fix breakfast for everyone and Jesse always had her favorite, blueberry pancakes and bacon. Together, they made sure she got her lessons done and then spent time with her at a park playing. They tried to make sure other children were around too. For her naps, Howie would read to Jesse while Sarah would cuddle with her and take a nap too. No matter what their schedule demanded, they made time for Jesse only letting Raoul watch her when they BOTH had to be in the spotlight.
