Part 431
The girls waited for an answer as each of the guys looked from one to the other. It was obvious that the decision to go had been made. Now they had to decide about the buses.
"Okay, we’d already decided that Kevin, Lynne, Ali, and AJ were riding with us," said Howie. "Are we gonna try and get all of us onto one bus?"
"There’s Garrett to consider too," offered Sarah.
"Going to Seattle won’t be too bad. It’s only a couple hours," said Kevin. "It’s the eight hour trip to the next town. There isn’t enough room on one bus for us all to sleep and we don’t need to take all five buses to Seattle. That’ll just add to the problems. The band is going on their bus so I think we should take one more bus."
"We should take Nick and Becca’s bus since all the baby stuff is on there," said Brian. "Sonja and I can just ride with them."
Nick smirked, "I think Howie and Sarah need to ride separately…practice not being able to have sex but having to listen to someone ELSE!"
"Bite me, Blondie," shot Sarah.
Howie piped up as he put his arm around Sarah, "I’m not sleeping without her. Besides, it’s NOT like we’re gonna be doing anything with two other couples on the bus too."
"Why not?" asked AJ. "You can damn sure bet I’m not gonna let it stop ME. It’s been too damn long."
Alison blushed as everyone else laughed. It was settled. The entire group would be going to Seattle to see Sarah perform. Sarah was elated. She loved having the guys in the audience but it did nothing for her morning sickness or nerves. Once more, she paled and headed for the bathroom. This time, Lynne followed.
"Sarah, are you going to be okay?" asked Lynne after about the fourth time Sarah hurled.
Groaning, she answered, "NO!"
"Can I help?"
Sarah came out of the stall at the back of the bathroom and shook her head, "Not much you can do. Thanks for…." Sarah turned and went back to throw up again.
"I’m going to get Howie," offered Lynne.
Sarah simply moaned to acknowledge her and Lynne went to get him. A few minutes later, Howie entered the Ladies’ Restroom with Kevin and Lynne standing guard outside so that no one would walk in on them.
"Angel?"
Sarah was leaning against the wall at the back of the bathroom and answered, "I’m here."
Howie grabbed a wet cloth and went to her. He knelt down in front of her and wiped her face as she began to cry. "Hey, hey, what are the tears for?" he smiled wiping them away. "We’ve been here before and you know it’ll get better."
"I know but god, I hate this."
"I know you do, ‘Angel’ but focus on the end result…two very beautiful babies. Once they’re here, you’ll forget all about this."
"But what about next time?"
"There doesn’t have to be a next time, ‘Angel’. I’ll be perfectly happy with three children."
"But…"
"Shhh," said Howie putting his fingers over her lips. "It’s okay, Angel. Come on, breakfast is waiting."
"Oh god…" and Sarah began to hurl again. She had her hair in a ponytail so Howie simply held her head with the wet cloth on it. When she was done, she said, "Please, don’t make me eat."
"You need to eat something, Sarah. How about I get you some ginger ale and toast?"
"Thank you," whispered Sarah as Howie helped her up. Taking his hand in hers, "You make it so easy to love you."
Howie kissed her forehead, "So do you, Angel. You’re going through all this because of me and you haven’t complained once."
"I’ll do it again too…because I love you, ‘D’."
Howie pushed a strand of hair that had fallen out of the ponytail back and kissed her again. "One more reason to love you."
