Part 525
As Becca and Sarah headed into the arena, they were laughing about the guys when they were stopped.
"Where are you two headed?" asked Kryss.
"Got work to do," answered Sarah curtly not wanting to engage the petite blonde in ANY conversation.
"BEHAVE," whispered Becca elbowing Sarah. Then sweetly, to Kryss, she asked, "Why aren’t you in the meeting with Steve?"
"Steve said there was no need for me to be in there for the meeting. Are you practicing for the show tonight?"
Cheerfully, Becca answered, "Yeah, sound checks. Wanna join us?"
Kryss brightened, "SURE! Will the guys be doing theirs after the meeting?"
"Probably," answered Becca ignoring the glare Sarah was giving her. "Just go up those steps and tell one of the crew that I said you could watch sound checks. They’ll show you where you can sit."
"Thanks, Mrs……"
"Oh, please, call me Becca."
"Thanks, Becca," said Kryss cheerfully. Then to Sarah, she said, "I can’t wait to hear you singing!"
"I’ll show you where you can sit," Sarah mumbled as the perky blonde bounced towards the steps. Then she growled at Becca, "What the hell are you doing?"
"What’s it going to hurt to have her watching us do sound checks?"
"You SAW how she was throwing herself at Howie."
"Don’t tell me you’re jealous?"
"NO! I know Howie’s not interested but I don’t exactly want her where she can do it again."
"Look at it this way. With her out front with us, you can keep your eye on her. She can’t wait back here for Howie to come out of the meeting."
"True, very true."
"Now let’s go, Mrs. Hormones," teased Becca.
"Agggggg….I HATE it when you’re right," groaned Sarah as Becca pulled her to the stage.
Climbing up the steps, Sarah started getting herself prepared to go through their sound checks. She also said a silent prayer that the Boys wouldn’t be long. She wasn’t exactly sure how she was going to keep Becca out there if they weren’t done by the end of her sound checks.
As always, sound checks without Kevin was a riot. ‘Mook’ and Sarah got together to clown around driving Chris insane at the soundboard. Becca attempted to maintain a certain degree of seriousness but it was a lost cause. She’d get serious and Sarah or ‘Mook’ would do or say something sending everyone into a fit of laughter.
