Part 545

Killing the two hours they had before the buses left, the other four guys made their way to Nick and Becca’s room. They all had one basic objective other than kill time and that was to help Becca with Garrett. They knew she was still feeling really bad.

The room was basically quiet, very little conversation as the guys went about their activities. Brian and Nick were settled on the floor playing video games with the sound muted. Kevin was reading over some papers for the record company while Howie and AJ were looking at new material for Sarah.

Sarah had been off playing ‘mom’ to the other guys making sure they had cleaned out their rooms leaving nothing behind before she made her way to Nick and Becca’s room. She wasn’t about to miss an opportunity to torment Becca, especially since the guys had effectively prevented her from doing anything at breakfast.

Entering the room, she looked around to see that Becca was stretched out on the couch with Garrett snuggled against her chest, seemingly asleep. She smirked and said, "God, it’s dark in here," and made her way to the windows to open the curtains allowing the bright sun to shine in. "That’s better," she smiled.

Sarah didn’t miss the nasty glare that Becca shot her as she tried to shield her eyes from the sun. She also heard the mumbled threat but ignored it as Garrett began to whimper. Taking him from Becca, she headed to the bedroom to change his diaper.

The guys looked at each other and shook their heads.

Returning, Sarah placed Garrett in his seat and moved the infant gym so he had something to look at. Then she headed to the kitchenette to fix herself something to drink. Without even attempting to do it quietly, Sarah filled her glass with ice, dropping each ice cube, one by one. Pouring herself a glass of tea, she found some sugar, put it in her glass, and then proceeded to stir it, clanking the spoon against the side of the glass.

Howie looked at Becca as she held her head in her hands and said, "Sarah that’s enough."

"Oh, I’m sorry, Bec. Still not feeling well?"

Sarcastically, Becca shot, "I feel just peachy!"

Sarah smirked and went to sit with Howie on the other couch. "Kevin, is that today’s paper beside you?"

"Yeah, baby. Wanna see it?"

"It’s something to do since Nick is hogging the TV with the video games and my computer is packed so I can’t read any fan fic." Another dig.

From the couch, with her arm now across her eyes, Becca mumbled, "Bitch."

Blowing Becca a kiss, Sarah settled into the cushions of the couch. Howie had moved so that he and AJ could continue working so she put her feet in his lap. Looking up at her, Howie gave her a wink and began to rub her foot as he looked back at what AJ was showing him.

Sarah opened the paper and began perusing it in search of the reviews for last night’s show. With each turn of a page, Sarah rattled it loudly and cut her eyes to see Becca’s reaction.

On the other couch, Becca cringed each time. Vowing to herself to kill Sarah the next opportunity she got, she did her best to ignore her supposed best friend.

Reaching the entertainment section, Sarah quickly found the reviews, read them and continued on. As she turned the page an ad caught her eye and she had an evil idea.

"OH MY GOD!" squealed Sarah vary aware of what she was doing to Becca.

AJ laughed seeing Sarah practically bouncing. "Okay, but calm down, ‘Tigger’…for Becca’s sake."

"What ‘cha got, baby?" asked Kevin thinking it was a review of her show.

"Okay…listen up….The word has been spreading about a place in San Bernardino where plates are being broken, ouzo is being poured like water, and tabletop dancing goes on for hours while revelers feast on Greek delicacies . Last night was twice the treat for many patrons of ‘Taverna Opa’ owned by Peter Antonopolous, including this reporter, as the Backstreet Boys and their entourage of dancers, musicians, and crew along with the wives, indulged in the festivities after their show."

All eyes and ears, even Becca’s, were now on Sarah curious to hear the rest of this ‘article’.

Seeing that she had Becca’s attention, Sarah went back to reading. "The highlight of the evening had to have been the show put on by frontman AJ McLean and Rebecca Carter, wife of blond heartthrob Nick Carter, as they danced provocatively on the tabletops…There’s a picture of…"

Becca snatched the paper from Sarah’s hands and began searching for the picture and article with Nick looking over her shoulder. Realizing Sarah had made up the whole thing, she glared at her, "I HATE YOU…you know that. I REALLY HATE YOU!"

Sarah was now laughing hysterically as she managed to say, "Ah, Bec! You don’t mean that!"

"Let me see the article," said Brian.

Nick shook his head as Becca threw a pillow at Sarah. "There isn’t an article. Sarah’s just being obnoxious."

"It’s what I do best!" announced Sarah proudly as Howie just shook his head.

"Enough of the torture," said Kevin in his authoritative voice. "We need to gather our stuff and hit the road."

"’Bout time," grumbled Becca as she moved to get Garrett ready for the trip. "At least on the bus I can get away from my EX best friend."

Sarah laughed, "Ah, Becca, I love you too!!"

"Come on, ‘Angel’. You’ve inflicted enough torture for one day," laughed Howie taking Sarah’s hand and helping her up.

On the road again.
