Vegeta and his Family
Vegeta
Vegeta is the Prince of all Saiyens, born on the planet of Vegeta.
History of the Character: Born in the year 732, he is the son of King Vegeta and has the incredible ability and thirst to fight. As he grows up, he and the other Saiyens were forced to work for Freiza. After all the work the Saiyens do for Freiza, he ends up destroying their home planet, exterminating the entire race of Saiyens, excluding Vegeta(phew!)and a few others.
After the death of Raditz, Vegeta learns about the Dragonballs on Earth, and heads toward Earth in hopes of wishing for immortality. He then reaches Earth, and instead of finding the Dragonballs, he finds the Z-Fighters. He and Nappa easily destroy most of them, but has a very magnifcient battle with Goku, when he finally arrives. After being forced to retreat from the Earth, he heads towards Namek, hoping to grant his wish there. But to his dismay, he ends up finding Freiza there, who easily defeats our favourite Saiyen prince. When Goku arrives, Vegeta is thankful to actually see the day that a Saiyen would defeat Freiza, and then explains to Goku how it was he that destroyed their home planet, and then begins to cry, because the sinister Freiza had shattered the prince's pride. And then, Freeza kills him. Very tragic. When Vegeta is revived, many of us think he will not be the person he said Freiza made him be, but a new, changed Vegeta. There, he teams up with the Z-fighters and goes to battle Freiza, but they don't even see him. There, they meet Trunks (without realizing that he is Vegeta's son!). During their "offtime", Vegeta and Bulma end up "doing things" and have a son, which is Chibi Trunks, who is Trunks in the present.
Vegeta ends up teaming up with his rival, Goku, and that's when he finally reaches the level of Super Saiyen, and easily beats Android #19, but is beaten badly by Android #18, later on in the series. This battle really damaged Vegeta's pride after he became a Super Saiyen he regained all of it and then he lost it all to a girl. When the Boo Saga rolls along, Vegeta is actually better. He isn't as cold, but isn't as nice as he could be I guess a kind of a grouch, and he seems to have adapted to the easy-going life of a rich Earthling. When they set off to fight Boo, Vegeta, Goku and Gohan surprised Kaioshin by defeating Babadi's warriors very easily. This is one of my favourite parts:when they're playing rock, paper, scissors to decide who battles next! Vegeta finally has his turn, and shows that monster who's really the Prince of Saiyens, with no problem at all. Vegeta is then transformed into Majin Vegeta by Babidi becaus ehe still had bad thoughts in him. This caused Vegeta to gain enough power to catch up to Goku's superior power. Their fight begins and their powers are dead even. Vegeta wins by telling Goku to get a senzu bean and that they will fight against Boo together. As Goku is getting a bean Vegeta gives him a cheap shot from behind.
Vegeta then is fighting Boo and having a lot of trouble, until he finally realizes the only way to defeat the monster,is by sacrficing himself. A noble sacrifice, indeed, yet it was all for nothing, as Boo can easily regenerate.
Vegeta is returned from Heaven or Hell, by Uranai Baba in order to save the Earth and all the Universe. He there fuses with Goku to create Vegeto, the super warrior.
First Appeared In: Volume #17.
Characteristics: Easily described as cold, sometimes heartless, and bitchy, but if you dig deep, very deep inside this saiyen's heart, you'll find the goodness that he is too proud to show.
Also, Vegeta has an ego that's as inflated as a hot-air balloon. In other words he has very high self-esteem!
Techniques: Some of his techniques that are more known are his Gallet Gun, the Final Flash and the Big Bang Attack.
His Main Combats: His first main combat was against Goku in a spectacular "light" show, in which after being very hurt. It seems like nothing will kill him. Vegeta
turns into Oozaru and kicks Goku's butt. Some other pretty good fights are his ones againts Kui,Zarbon, Dodoria and his mini-fight with Freiza, which he didn't really put up a wonderful fight, but actually realized he was no match for him. Against the Androids and Cell, he put up a good battle. Against Cell's second form, let's say that he was just beating the crap out of him, but he wanted to see his perfect form, so he let him free (Once again, Vegeta's ego will come back and bite the rest of the Z-Fighters in the ass.) So, against his perfect form, he didn't really stand a chance. Vegeta took shot after shot. The Boo fight where he was forced to explode himself brought a tear to my eye, but it didn't even harm Boo.
World Fighting Tournament: He entered the 25th tournament, but his fight was cancelled (he was going to be against Goku in the first round...fiesty! That would have been very exciting of a fight) due to the arrival of KaioShin. In the 28th tournament, he reaches the final phase, but no one knows how it ends.(Only Akira Toriyama!).
Anime: In the anime, Vegeta is more destructive than in the manga. For example, he destroys the planet Arlia for fun, as well as the planet Litto. He lives at Capsule Corporation with Bulma, who he doesn't really show feelings for, (I don't know about you, but that "Shut up, woman," buisness was damn funny!)Unfortunetley, he isn't excactly considerate, and he steals (well, borrows)a spaceship created by Dr. Briefs, and heads to space in hopes of finding Goku there, but returns back to Earth, without any success. And also wears a nice little get-up, too. (You know, that pink "Badman" shirt...it speaks for itself) Also, he fuses with Goku to create Gogeta, a character only found in the anime.
Trunks
Bulma
Bulma is the main female character in Dragonball and Dragonball Z.
History of the person: She was born in the year 733, and she lives in the Western City. When she first learns that collecting the seven Dragonballs can grant you any wish, she heads out to find them, wanting to wish for a prince.
In search for the Dragonball with four stars, she meets up with Goku, carrying a giant fish on his back. Goku gets agressive with Bulma, in her car, because he thinks it's a monster, and then she shoots him. But after Goku isn't dead, she realizes that he could be useful on her journey, and drags him along.
Life wasn't always easy for her; she is forced to wear a Bunny suit by Oolong, turned into a carrot, and has many numerous break-ups with Yamcha. Bulma must be the luckiest character in DragonBall because she survives a lot of times when she really shouldn't. A lot of these occur on the Planet Namek.
When they arrive on Namek, Bulma makes herself at home in a cave. She ends up marrying Vegeta, the Prince of Saiyens (In a way, she does get her wish...), and with him, has a son named Trunks and a daughter named Bra. In the alternative future, she creates a time machine so that her son can go back in time to save the future. By giving Goku the medicine that will heal him and save all of those in that future.
First Appeared In: Volume #1.
Characteristcs: On the outside, Bulma is very pretty and many times the subject of Master Roshi's perverted flirting, as well as many other male characters. But on the inside, Bulma has an awful attitude, and is usually screaming at another character. She is stubborn and spoiled, but she is also sincere, and as she gets older in the series, her bitchy personality fades. She is also a mechanical genius, and creates many things, like the Dragonball Detecter, the Shrinking Watch, and Trunks' time machine.
Main Battles: Although she occasionally slaps Master Roshi, or bitches at Vegeta, those aren't considered as battles. Bulma is basically there to cheer on the battles that are occuring. Or she is the reason why the battles occur. When she gets captured by the "Bad Guys" or some stupid things like that.
Anime: In the anime, Bulma usually tags along for the adventures, and ends up in some sticky situations; for example, she lands on fake Namek, and is turned into a frog. She takes care of Vegeta after he is injured by training hard before the creation of the Androids, and shows her affection for him.
King Vegeta
King Vegeta is the king of all of the Saiyens.
History of the PersonKing Vegeta and all of the Saiyens,in the year 737, decided to rebel against Freiza. This brought the destruction of their planet. They lost this battle horribly and Frieza killed all of the Saiyens because he was scared that one would have become a Super Saiyen. He killed them all without even transforming. Therefore he killed them all except Raditz, Nappa, Vegeta, and Kakarot(Goku).
Fist Appeared:Volume#25
Characteristics:King Vegeta is the one and only King of the Planet Vegeta. King Vegeta has a son that we all know and love(cough...cough)named obviously, Vegeta. King Vegeta is a mastermind int he field of strategies of a fight, this maybe because of his Saiyen character though. King Vegeta also has a logo and his uniform and this is probably the mark of the Family Vegeta. King Vegeta also eliminates any Saiyen who doesn't follow, obey, or isn't doing what they are supposed, to he kills them immediately. He also has a destructive character just like his son. (Like son like father???)I guess this gene runs in the Vegeta family.
His Main Fights:King Vegta has a short and brief fight with Freiza, he throws a punch at Freiza and then Freiza hits him and he is dead. A very short fight. He did this because he wanted to save his son and to free all of the Saiyens. Their fight against Freiza was very unsuccessful, Freiza destroyed the planet because he didn't want this to happen again, and to prevent the possiblility of a Super Saiyen. He missed a couple of Saiyens and that is what killed him and rightfully so. Freiza didn'T even have to transform to beat King Vegeta and to destroy their planet. King Vegeta thought that he actualy had achance against Freiza. I guess this is where Vegeta gets his over-confidence default.
AnimeIn the Anime, they show King Vegeta killing one of his own people because he reported that they needed another day to conquer the planet Shick. Frieza then passes by and mentions that he could have waited the extra day for the planet to be ready. King Vegeta then killed on of his own warriors pointlessly. In a video game, it shows that King Vegeta kills most of the Tfuls and maybe that is why he becomes the king of the planet.
Bulma's Mother
First Appeard In: Volume #6.
Characteristics: When everythings seems like it's going to end, and when there's no hope for anything, count on Mrs. Briefs to prepare your tea and biscuits. Bulma's mom I believe has a crush on Goku because she always flirts with him. I guess she chose brains over bronze if she chose Dr. Briefs.
Dr. Briefs
Great scholar and scientist, and inventor of the capsule system, and head chairman of Capsule Corporation.
First Appeared In: Volume #6.
Characteristics: He is a very smart man, and teaches Bulma all of his tricks.
We see his nice collection of magazines when Bulma takes the wrong box of capsules. Instead of her own box of capsules.
He has a nice zoo with him at his house, a dog, a cat and even a dinosaur. He is a genius and a very rich one at that, because he created the Hoipoi capsule system, which started a whole new revolution in the world of Dragonball.
Anime: In the anime, he grants the spoiled Vegeta his wish by creating a gravity tank that is 300 times Earth's normal gravity. Which is 3 times stronger than the one he built on Goku's ship.
Bra
Daughter of Bulma and Vegeta.
History of the Person: She is born in the year 778, during the ten years that takes place after the Boo saga.
First Appeared In: Volume #42.
Characteristics: Bra is the spitting image of her mother, and doesn't really possess many characteristics of her father. Bra's hair colour is the same as her mother's, her eyes are the same as her mother's, and has the temper of her father. She is a half saiyen, which seems like it is a perfectly good waste, as Bra is likely capable of becoming Super Saiyen, yet she doesn't train, and doesn't really care.
Anime: In the anime, Bra plays a more important role in Dragonball GT.
