A Forgotten Past

Prologue

Across the vast reaches of the universe there was a planet of bloody battles, lost youth, and cold-blooded killers.

The planet…Vejiitasei.

This planet was the home of the most deadly and ruthless warriors the universe has ever known. It was ruled by King Vegeta, and his two heirs, 10 year old Prince Vegeta, and his twin sister Princess Kyley.

Their father, King Vegeta, was a cold and cruel man who cared nothing for his children except for their power levels and fighting abilities. Their mother…was dead. In fact the only reason why Vegeta and Kyley were still kept around was the fact that an heir to the throne was needed. At least that is why Prince Vegeta still lived. Kyley on the other hand…well no one really knew why she was spared. Some say that it was because she was an excellent fighter. Others say that it was because she was the most beautiful Saiyan female. No one really knew the answer.

Both Kyley and Vegeta had been trained since age 2 by Nappa, the leader of the Saiyan Elite Army, and Prince Vegeta’s guardian. Kyley’s guardian was a warrior of the first class Saiyan army; Turles, the younger brother of Raditz.

Prince Vegeta was the spitting image of his father; short and stocky, tall, unruly black hair, and cold, black angular eyes. His personality was the same as well; cold-hearted, cruel, ruthless, and ill tempered. He absolutely loved the thirst for battle, and went off world as much as possible.

Kyley was said to have looked like her mother, although she never really knew her. She had long, thick, shiny black hair. A slender curvy body, with beautiful blue-black eyes that sparkled like the evening sky. Kyley was also a cruel, ruthless, and powerful warrior, who was extremely temperamental; yet she wasn’t as cold as her brother or father.

Both, even though young, were very powerful, and very deadly. They were the strongest members of the Vegeta dynasty since a millennia, but someone had something else in mind for the Saiyans…

Chapter 1-Future Plans

One evening, after a difficult sparring session, the two exhausted heirs walked gravely down the long black marble corridors to their rooms.

Kyley walked by her brother’s side silently. Her pale face, which dripped with sweat, was partially covered with her sleek black hair, her soft, furry, brown tail looped boisterously to and fro behind her. She glanced slyly at her brother, and smirked.

“I almost had you today Vegeta.”

“Yeah, ALMOST.” He mocked. “You just got a lucky ki attack.”

Her cheeks flushed red, and she narrowed her baneful blue-black eyes.
“Shut up, or you’ll be eating ‘Blue Lightning’!”

He snorted. “So that’s what you call that lame attack of yours? Please! You can’t beat me and you know it!”

‘Kuso,” she thought. “I’m still not strong enough…” She reached her door, flung it open, and stormed in.

“I’ll get you Vegeta!” She hissed slamming the door.

“Humph! Go ahead.” He scowled turning on one heel, and walking into his room.

Kyley stomped across her bedroom (which was actually about the size of a small house), and removed her gold tinted armor, and green battlesuit, and flung it into a nearby chair. Then she trudged angrily into bathroom with her fuzzy tail lashing back and forth.

The princess stepped gracefully into the shower, and turned it up as hot as she could stand it.

The sheer spray of water felt good, and her body still ached from the last beating that she had received. Soon her mind began to drift to the incidents that had occurred earlier that day.

It was that day again. The day of the week that they were forced to go see their father. Neither liked him, and all he did was ask about their power levels. They would have to dress in their finest clothing and armor usually just to get yelled at.

Both heirs strided down the narrow marble passageway to the throne room, flanked by Nappa and Turles. They entered the illustrious room, and stopped a few steps away from the throne.

“Nappa!” Thundered the king. “What’s the boy’s power level?” He more demanded than asked.

“12,000 sire, far greater than most boys his age.” Replied the burley Saiyan behind the prince.

“Good…very good,” replied King Vegeta stroking his ebony beard. “And what about the other brat Turles?”

“8,000 sire, the highest of any young female around.” Answered the Spiky-haired Saiyan.

“Good enough,” said the King disappointed. He was always displeased with her. She was never good enough.

“Brat!” Kyley heard her father yell at her. She turned her attention to him, and unwillingly listened.

“On the day you turn of age to mate you will carry on the royal bloodline, with this warrior,” he pointed to Turles. “Do you understand me brat!”

“Hai, Otousan.” She replied in a bored tone.

“What was that!” He bellowed. “I though I told you to never call me that!” He stood up hastily getting ready to backhand her.

“GOMEN NASI VEGETA SAMA!” She shrieked.

Next to her little Vegeta snickered at her misfortune, and she glared at him, thoroughly annoyed.

The King snorted and sat back down. “That’s better. Now Turles, do you understand my orders?”

“Yes sire, arigato.”

“Good, then take them both out of my sight!”

“Baka yaro!” Kyley muttered turning off the shower. “How dare he choose my mate when I’m perfectly capable of doing it myself! And Turles…yes he may be cute, but he’s definitely not my type.”

She stepped out of the shower, and dried herself off; erasing the disturbing thoughts from her mind. Habitually she wrapped her soft tail around her waist, and walked over to her dresser. She pulled out some oversized clothes, and deftly put them on.

Before turning away, a glint of gold and blue caught her eye. It was her necklace; her most treasured possession. A long gold chain with a blue stone flower charm dangling from the golden links and on the back her name was inscribed in italics.

It was the only thing in her life that she actually cherished. Vegeta, her brother, had given it to her, and it was the only thing even remotely nice he had ever done for her.

She reached out and grabbed the keepsake; carefully putting it around her neck. Sluggishly she crawled into her gigantic bed, and instantly fell into a deep slumber.
