A Forgotten Past

Chapter 3-Something Strange

For 5 years young Princess Kyley traveled throughout the universe looking for a place suitable to live. Her home was now destroyed, and she had no one; she was alone. ‘I wonder if there were any survivors.’ She thought to herself. ‘Kuso! I hate being alone!’

She sat in silence for several moments, and looked out her window into the black nothingness; leaning her head against the back of the seat. Soon afterward she looked down at her control panel.

‘Hmmm, I’m low on fuel again. Better stop at the next planet. Hopefully they’ll have some technology.’ She smirked to herself, as her ship rocketed through space.

Elsewhere, on a beautiful blue-green planet; the demon lord Piccolo was hard at work training himself.

“Next time Goku you’re mine! You will pay for what you did!” He panted as he punched and kicked at the air.

A silent night breeze blew through the mountainous region; ruffling his sharp white cape, as the crescent moon rose high into the night sky.

Soon Piccolo began to tire, so he decided to take a break and meditate. He quit attacking the air, and went and sat under a nearby tree. Seconds later he began to hover silently over the ground.

Everything was going berserk!

“Kuso!” Yelled Kyley. “I’ve been traveling in this damned ship for 5 years, and never had a problem. What the hell is going on! It must be the atmosphere of this planet.”

She punched a few buttons, and the ship began to jerk violently as it entered the atmosphere of a blue-green planet.

“Chikushoo!!!!!” She yelped as her head slammed brutally into the thick-glassed window; knocking her unconscious.

He had not been in a trance for long, when a silver-gray object streaked through the sky, and crashed less than 100 ft away from him.

“What the hell!!!!” His eyes snapped wide open and he sprung up from where he sat. There, only a few feet away, was a little space ship; still smoking from its impact with Earth.

Curiously he walked up to the silver ship, and peered into the window. There he saw her. A young girl lay limply across the seat. Blood trickled freely down her face from a huge gash on her forehead. Long black hair hung delicately around her lifeless body.

‘Get her out of there!’ His brain told him, and he immediately began to pry open the door, and after a great amount of effort, he forced open the door.

The girl still did not stir, but he saw that she was quietly breathing. So Piccolo reached in and carefully picked her up. He walked away from the steaming ship with the girl and placed her limp body under the tree that, only moments ago, he had been sitting under. Effortlessly, he ripped off a section of his chalky-white cape, and began to dab at the bleeding gash on her forehead.

When she awoke, strong arms were cradling her slender body, and concerned black eyes stared into her own. Soon her eyes came clearly into focus, and she began to see the features of a man with dark green skin, long pointy ears, and beady, black eyes.

After several moments of silence she found her voice, and managed to stutter, “Where am I?”

Another moment of silence passed before he replied “Stone Mountain” in a voice that rolled like distant thunder.

She nodded densely, and was quiet for another moment, until she, again, broke the silence. “What happened to me?” She asked the strange man who held her.

His eyes widened considerably at the question, but answered it with his own. “You don’t remember?”

“No.” She said quietly clutching a blue and gold object around her neck.

He sighed. “I suppose you lost your memory when your ship crashed.” He glanced over at the silver pod then back at her. “Do you know your name?”

She thought really hard for a moment, and heard a young voice ringing in her head. “…Kyley.”

‘Is that it?’ She asked herself. ‘My name?’ Then she remembered the green man looking down at her; waiting for her to reply.

“Kyley.” She told him slowly, tasting the words for accuracy.

“Do you remember anything else?”

She thought even harder; she forced her brain to try to remember something, anything. Nothing came to her. Disappointed, she told him that she couldn’t remember anything.

“My head hurts.” She told him.

“That’s because of this gash on your forehead.” He lightly touched her head, and she winced at the pain and made a face at him.

Quickly he drew his hand away from her. “Gomen nasi.”

“It’s ok.” She whispered. Weakly, she tried to stand up. But her attempt failed, and he knees wobbled like those of a newborn foal, and she fell helplessly back into his lap.

Chuckling, he picked he up, and sat her beside him. Then he stood up, and silently began to walk away.

“Wait!” She called out franticly. “Where are you going! Please don’t leave me!”

“I’m not going to leave you.” He replied without turning. “You’ve lost a lot of blood, and need some nourishment. I’m going to go find you something to eat.” Listlessly, he continued walking away.

He stomach growled, and she decided that he was right. She couldn’t remember the last time she had eaten.

“Hey!” She called out to him again.

This time he stopped and turned around to look at her.

“What’s your name?” She asked him. He sighed narrowing his eyes, and she thought mentally that maybe she should have just stayed quiet. “Well I can’t just call you ‘guy that saved me’ now can I?”

He smiled slightly at her. “Call me Piccolo.”
