A Forgtten Past

Chapter 4-Arrival

Five years passed by quickly.

After Kyley had completely recovered from her crash Piccolo decided to train her. To his surprise she was a natural fighter, and knew how to use and manipulate her ki very well. She was particularly fond of one attack, which she called “Blue Lightning.” She called it that because she said those were the words that formed in her mind.

Kyley had also lost her tail due to an unfortunate accident during a sparring session. She didn’t miss it much though, because she thought that it was pretty pointless.

Kyley also learned about Piccolo’s archenemy, Goku, and so she learned to hate him as well.

Since her crash she never remembered much. Sometimes she would have visions of people with tails. Other times she would hear strange voices. And every night she would have the same reoccurring dream about a pale figure, and a green haired boy.

“You’re doing good Kyley,” panted Piccolo as he dodged another punch aimed at his face. “Keep it up. If you can hit me one more time I’ll let you take a break.”

She nodded exhaustedly, eager for a break, and sent an elbow at his neck. He quickly blocked it easily. She spun around and aimed a kick at his stomach; he countered her attack again. Then Kyley’s body flickered and vanished. There was a rush of wind at Piccolo’s back. He whirled around and tried to block it, but the blow went under his hands and impacted with his stomach.

She smirked proudly at herself, and watched as her sensei doubled over. He stayed in that position for several moments, and Kyley began to wonder what was wrong.

“Piccolo-San?” She called out to him as she slowly began to float over to him. “Are you alright?” She wondered why she was asking him this, he was never hurt. She finally reached him, and saw that he was holding her stomach and breathing heavily.

“Kuso Piccolo-San you must be getting old!” She teased. He said nothing. “Piccolo-Sa-“

Quickly he reached out and grabbed her, holding her tightly from behind.

“Onore!!!” She hissed wriggling to get loose.

He began to chuckle uncontrollably and let her go. She turned around abruptly, and glared daggers at him.

“Nani?” He asked innocently shrugging. She only narrowed her eyes even more. “Don’t do that!” She spat.

He smiled again, “you can take a break now, I’d like to teach you a new technique within the next few weeks.” He grinned again when he saw that her back was turned, and she was pouting. “What’s wrong? Didn’t I tell you to never fall for the deception of the enemy?”

“Yeah…so!!” She growled; whirling around. “I thought I might have actually hurt you.”

“Baka. You know better than that. You can’t-“ He stopped in mid sentence and looked around warily.

“Oh no!” Kyley snapped. “I’m not falling for that again Piccolo-san!” Abruptly she turned her back on him again and crossed her arms. “I’m not that stupid!”

Silently she floated down to a nearby mountaintop, white cape billowing in the wind, and landed. Piccolo remained there for a few more moments, looking off into the distance, then followed Kyley.

“Kyley,” he told her calmly, “I sense a huge ki heading out way.”

“Goku?” She wondered, remembering her mentor’s long hated rival.

“No, not him!” Piccolo told her sharply. “It’s too high to be Goku’s. It’s someone or something else.”

“Masaka!” She gasped as she too finally sensed the high ki approaching.

Sure enough, off in the distance there was a speck heading straight towards them, and growing at an incredible rate. Soon a full sized man came into view, and landed right in front of the two baffled warriors.

He was tall and muscular, with long black hair that cascaded down his back. He wore strange-looking armor, and one machine looking thing was hooked over his left ear covering that eye.

“Forgive me for dropping in,” the man said with deep sarcasm in his voice, “I’m looking for someone named Kakarrot. I thought one of you might have been him. I guess I was wrong.”

“Yeah well your excused.” Piccolo matched me mans sarcasm. “Neither of us is the Kakarrot your seeking. So go away. I don’t have time to deal with you.”

“You’re a very kind…thing.” Replied the man dryly.

“I wouldn’t count on that,” Piccolo narrowed his eyes. Now get the hell out of here.”

The man smirked and pushed a button on the machine over his eye. “You talk big for a man who has such a low ki. Only 1,000 mine is double that.” He then turned towards Kyley to check her ki. “Nani!!” He gasped “How…could…you…have…” ‘My scouter shows she has a ki of 6,000, but how could that be. Is she…’

Kyley looked at the man curiously, “Nanda?”
His machine beeped again. “another ki…hmmm…and it’s a little higher than the green man, that must be Kakarrot.”
Without saying anything else the man quickly jumped into the air and took off at an incredible speed.

Piccolo turned to look at Kyley, who was puzzled over the whole thing. “Come on Kyley, lets follow him.”

“NANI?!” Kyley all but screamed. “Why?”

“Because I said. Now lets go!” He rose into the air and left.

“Fine,” she grumbled, following him.

Both of them followed the strange man all the way to a tiny island with one house on it. On the side of the house painted in big letters were the words KAME HOUSE. Immediately the spotted the man landing near Piccolo’s archenemy Goku, and his friends.

Piccolo stopped, and stood in mid-air; watching from above. Kyley flew up to her mentor, and stood by his side.

Both hung there in mid-air and listened intently to the conversation taking place below them.

“So we finally meet Kakarrot,” the man said to Goku. “You’ve grown up quite a bit, but you look just like our father Bardock, and our brother Turles.”

“Kakarrot?” Goku said quietly. “Father….brother….what?”

“That’s right,” said the man. “You’re name is Kakarrot, and I am your oldest brother, Radditz. Have you forgotten you mission? It was to destroy this planet. Why haven’t you done it yet!”

“I don’t understand,” replied Goku; looking puzzled.

Radditz growled angrily as something long, furry, brown unfurled from around his waist, and lashed back and forth behind him.

“Nani?!” Goku gaped, “a tail?! You have a tail too?!”

“Piccolo-San,” Kyley gasped, “I had a tail like that once didn’t I? Could that mean I’m like that guy and Goku?”

“It’s possible,” he replied sternly, “pay attention. You might find out.”

“Of course I have a tail!” Radditz growled. “All Saiyans have tails.” His eyes widened, “where’s yours?!”

“Nanda?”

“Your tail baka! Where is it!”

“It was removed for good a long time ago.”

“Nani! You idiot,” Radditz growled, “you’ve lost your true Saiyan power. Now I can see why you’re such a weakling!”

“Saiyan?”

“Yes,” Radditz sneered, “you are a Saiyan warrior. We Saiyans are paid to take over and purge planets. We are the strongest race in the universe. Unfortunately though very few of us survived.” Radditz smirked and stepped closer to his brother, “you see little brother, 10 yeas ago our home planet Vejittasei was hit by a huge comet and was destroyed. It wiped out nearly the entire Saiyan race. Only five of us survived because we happened to be off planet. So you see you are quite valuable to us. I’ve come to bring you back. There’s a planet that is giving us a bit of trouble. We could use your help to destroy it.”

“Never!” Goku shouted.

“Really, that is quite interesting,” Radditz said calmly. He was staring intently at Goku’s little boy whom was clinging desperately to his father’s leg. “Alright fine,” Radditz smiled evilly, “I’ll take your brat instead. We’ll teach him how to fight like a true Saiyan.”

“Leave my son alone!” Goku yelled charging towards Radditz. The older Saiyan quickly dodged, and punched Goku right in the gut. Goku fell, and landed on the ground with a loud thud.

“Daddy!” Gohan cried running towards his fallen father, but before the youth could reach him Radditz reached down and grabbed the child by the collar, and stepped on his brother’s chest.

“Kakarrot. I’m taking your brat with me. If you want him back then you’ll have to kill 100 of this planet’s inhabitants by tomorrow. Otherwise your boy is dead. Besides,” he smirked “it’s about time the boy knew his uncle.”

With that, he took off into the sky with little Gohan in his arms, still wailing.
