One of Goku's old enemie's, an immortal named Garlic Jr., returned from the dead zone, thanks to the Makeo Star.
Garlic Jr. had returned for revenge!
He took over Kame's lookout and spread the black water mist across Earth, making everyone evil.
Gohan Piccolo and Krillin, the only ones unaffected, went to Kames lookout. After a lot of fighting, Kame and his groundskeeper, Mr. Popo, were freed. Then they spread the Sacred water over the Earth, returning everyone back to good.
Gohan destroyed the Makeo Star.
Then they sent Garlic Jr. back to the dead zone, since he could not be killed.
