He then arrived on Planet Earth. He went to the Earth's Guardian and asked if he could be the next Guardian of Earth. Tho Earth's Guardian said that he could only become the Guardian of Earth if he got rid of all of the evil within him. He did just this. As the new Guardian of Earth, he hired Mr. Popo to be the grounds keeeper of Kame's look out.

However, the evil Kame got rid of formed an new Namek, King Piccolo. King Piccolo then tried to take over the Earth, Kame the new Guardian of the Earth watched as Goku went to fight King Piccolo. Goku killed King Piccolo and right before he died, he laid an egg containing his essence. The egg hatched and Piccolo was born. Piccolo then went to fight Goku in the world's Martial Arts tournament. Piccolo lost, then went off to train.

Then he was greeted by a Saiyan, Radditz. He allied himself with Goku so they could save the Earth from Radditz. Goku was killed in the battle but instead of being happy, Piccolo honored his brave sacrifice. From then on he was a friend of the Z-fighters. He trained Goku's son Gohan.

Then all the Z-fighters, except Goku, went to face off against two new saiyans, Napa and Vegeta. Yamcha, Chowt-zou, Tien, and Piccolo died in the battle, then Goku arrived and finished the battle.

While Piccolo was in the next dimension he trained at King Kai's place, although he did not train with King Kai, as the others did.

When Piccolo was wished back he arrived on Planet Namek. He helped Goku and company fight Freiza. After getting beat-up, Goku defeated Freiza and the Z-fighters returned home.

Then they met up with Trunks,a boy from the future, while Trunks and Goku talked about the androids, Piccolo heard the whole thing, with his Namekian ears. Then he trained with Goku and Gohan for three years. Then the Androids arrived. Goku started to win but was afflicted with the heart virus Trunks said would strike him. Yamcha took Goku home for the medicine. Vegeta killed Android #19. Then Piccolo beat up Android #20. Android #20 escaped and unleashed Android #17 and Android #18. They killed Android #20, or Doctor Gero, same person. Then they beat up the Z-fighters.

Piccolo then went to fuse with Kame so they could beat the Androids. When they had reunited they were very powerful. Then Piccolo/Kame called himslef: THE NAMEK!
