What is Dragon Ball?

Alright this is your friend Chuck again I see some of these DBZ fans get into liking the show but don't know where it all came from. Since some don't even know Puar and Oolong(if you don't know these names keep reading)then they are not considered a DBZ fan in the CharlesX2 book. So this will tell you all about the series that came before DBZ, Dragon Ball!.

Summary
The summary of the story is like this. The story originated from a old Japanese legend where there was a magical dragon who could be summoned to give the summoner a single wish. So Japanese animators went to work and created magical tresures called Dragon Balls. Seven of these magic orange balls could be brought together to bring the dragon who would grant the wish. As this story kept unfolding new characters were involved in the story line and soon it became a whole new adventure.

Good Guys

Character Name Description
Goku He is a small boy that came from the sky. He met this old man who began to train him. Soon he was an expert in the martial arts but the old man(named Gohan) died when he was six. But soon he discovered he held one of the legendary Dragon Balls that he could use to wish for something with.
Bulma A 16 year old girl searching for the Dragon Balls so that she could wish for a boyfriend but later finds out that she doesn't need the wish. She finds Goku and teams up so that they can both search for the Dragon Balls.
Master Roshi He is an old man and the mentor to Goku's grandfather. He gives Goku a flying Nimbus and gives him more training in the martial arts. He is very perverted and always wants to get some but still is pretty funny.
Oolong A shapeshifing pig spending his time terrorizing a small town. He meetd Bulma and Goku on their quest for the Dragon Balls. He decides to follow them and join so that he can have part in the wish.
Yamcha A young man who is a bandit in a loney desert. He and his companion Puar take treasures from people who cross their desert. But once Goku and Bulma come he can't defeat them because Goku is really strong and he is afraid of girls. Even though he has a special attack called Wolf Fang Fist.
Puar She is a small cat like creature that floats by Yamcha's side. She shapeshifts as well just like Oolong. She helps them on their journey for the Dragon Balls.

Emporer Pilaf This guy is a scary lookin character. He wants the Dragon Balls for his own twisted needs. He has a whole army at his disposal and had a built fortress that is supposed to be impossible to get through. He keeps our friends from getting to their goal.
Evil Piccilo This is a Namek that is later introduced in the series and is resurrected from the egg that he spit out to form the Piccolo we know in DBZ. Anyway this is the evil side of Kami who tries to destroy the world. Luckly Goku is there to save the day (again). His purpose in DB is very slim but does effect DBZ in a way.
