What is DBZ?

It all started out with an old Japanese legend. This legend stated that if you collected seven treasures that were scattered accros the world and brought together a dragon would be summoned. This dragon would give the collector a single wish and then after the wish spread the tresures accros the world again so that another can gain its power. Since this legend was yet to unfold the Japanese media took this as their new kid cartoon show. They created characters and a story line and came up with the show Dragon Ball. This started in the 80's and boomed throughout the Japanese world. America didn't catch this series until Dragon Ball Z had made its debue in Japan and almost was finished in the early 90's. KidMark was the first to discover the DBZ phnemenom and started translating Dragon Ball and soon to put out on video. But soon they ran out of money and needed a company to help them with their business. Funimation came along and took its place. They did send out the videos eventually but it didn't get its reconition. Until Funimation started to air DBZ on saturday morning cartoons on UPN. It started the boom. But since Funimation wasan't progressing really well in the translating part of the business UPN was just airing reruns. That is when Cartoon Network started to push Funimation. UPN lost their right to air DBZ and Cartoon Nework could. They created more translated episodes then ever before and soon DBZ was the number one cartoon to watch in America. This has been going on for quite sometime going through many of the sagas. Now Dragon Ball will soon air on Cartoon Network in the winter of 2001. The DBZ craze is still going on and won't stop until everthing is revealed and that is why we have these web site. To bring out the stuff that hasn't reached you the viewer yet. Below you will find summaries for both Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z and maybe Gt but that is another story.

Dragon Ball

It all started with a little boy that came from outer space. He had a strange tail that looked like a monkey's. He was found by an old man name Gohan. Even though the boy was mean and vicious the old man still cared for the boy and named him Goku. One day he was running from the old man when he fell and hit his head on a rock. He lost his memory and soon became a good boy. He trained under Gohan to learn martial arts and was convinced that he was his grandfather. One day when goku was six or seven Gohan died so he had to fend for himself out in the wilderness. His grandfather left him a power pole that extends on command and a shiney orange ball with four stars in it and since it was his last possesion he thought it was his grandfather. Soon a girl named Bulma comes and runs into Goku. She is looking for the dragon balls. She told him about the legend and asked for the ball which was the orange ball that he thought was his grandfather. He didn't want to give it up so Bulma said he could keep it and come with her on her journey to find the rest. He agreed and that is what started Dragon Ball. Many other characters are introduced such as Oolong the shape shifing pig, Puar the shape shifting cat, Yamcha the bandit, Master Roshi the turtle hermit, Pilaf the evil emporer,Krillin Goku's first friend, and many more.

Dragon Ball Z

Dragon Ball Z is mostly a sequal to Dragon ball. Since the battles and torunamnets in Dragon Ball were so popular this series was based mostly on saving the earth from evil things. Goku has married and already had his first child Gohan which they find out has an enormous hidden power. The sayins which is the alien race Goku is from is more explained in this series with his evil brother Radditz and the other evil sayin Nappa and vegeta who try to take over the world. They are sent by and evil alien named Frezza who in repects has almost taken over the universe. Vegeta soon becomes one of the good guys when he trys to help the Z gang defeat Frezza. But relizes that they don't need help when they figure out that Goku also has a power called the Super Sayin. With action packed fights and a good story line this series is yet to unfold.
