Free Will
Well people, today I'm trying to decide the age old question "To use Free Will or not to use Free Will." Let's start out by listing the advantages of using free will:

First off, allowing you Sims to do their own thing keeps them from just standing around doing nothing until you realize you haven't told them to do anything. Thus you can more easily handle a family of four or more.

Also your sims may know what they need more than you do so with free will your sims get what they want, which can be a good or bad thing.

I know I must be focusing on the negatives but the key to free will lies in the first positive, you know the one that gets rid of your sims "down time." So one with the negatives.

Supposing you built up a romantic friendship between one of your sims and another in the family. Then another family member with an attraction to you happens to want to use the exercise machine in the bedroom, however your first sim (the one at the top of the love triangle) and the other sim are in the same bedroom playing a little tonsil hockey. If you don't catch this situation in time you can be looking at a little problem at home.

It's been my experience that some of those party sims out there like to stay up at all hours of the night socializing and what not, when they should be resting up for their job the next day. (That didn't sound to mom-like did it?)

Also referring to my reference of your sims getting what they want in the positive section, The Sims.com tells me that your sims chose randomly from the top four activities, so they might not get what they really need.

While I personally don't use free will, it's truly up to you to decide what is best for your game and don't let anybody tell you otherwise.

Well that just about does it for me. I hope this article was informative enough, and until next time happy simming.
