After Goku's fight with Freezer...
Peace returns to Earth, but only for a few years. A powerful Ki is feeled near our heroes' location. The warriors set quickly to find out what it is. An unknown spaceship has arrived to Earth. You see, Freeza's father, King Cold, picked all of Freeza's pieces after his death. He united them and revived Freezer! Well, of course, he's now a type of "cyber Freezer". Freezer and his dad have arrived to Earth to kill the Super Saiyajin that defeated Freeza. But a strange young man is waiting for them.
The unknown guy taunts Freezer into a fight. To show all his power, the young man destroys Freeza's guards in no time, and asks Freezer to attack him with all he's got, because "I'm not as compassive as Goku is", he says. Then the warrior warns his opponents that Goku isn't the only Super Saiyajin! He transforms into one before their amazed eyes.
He kills freezer in no time, using his powerful blade.
Then he challenges King Cold, who asks the warrior to join "the most powerful family in space". The Z warriors have watched all this and are overwhelmed by the unkown warrior's powers. Even after giving his sword to King Cold, the young super saiyan easily beats Freeza's father. Then the young man goes towards Goku's friends and tells them Goku is about to arrive. In fact, he does. The unknown warrior challenges Goku to a fight, who immediateley turns into a Super Saiyajin. After proving Goku's immense powers, the unknown guy puts away his blade and introduces himself. "I come from the future, and I'm Vejita's and Bulma's son. My name is Trunks.", the young man says to the surprised Goku. Trunks warns Goku of a new threat that will jeopardize once again humanity and Earth. Before he leaves, he handles him a small bottle with a special medicine for a disease that he'll catch on later. With that, he leaves. Goku then narrates he's adventure in Yardatt, planet where he was cured and saved after Namek blowed off. He was rescued by some beings from this planet and he even learned a new technique; the teleport. This technique consists in feeling another person's Ki and teleporting to where that person is. Piccolo was the only one that was able to hear Goku's conversation with Trunks (he has a namek's hearing, which is supposed to be a lot more accurate than the regular human ear). Piccolo decides that the Z warriors have to train hardly in the next three years, because new threats will come... Piccolo sets to train with Gohan and Goku, and Vejita trains alone. After three years, it looks like Bulma grew fond of Vejita (she cured him after he hurted himself while training), and now they have a son! Then, the threat arrives. These are powerful androids, and they can't be detected easily, because they have no Ki.
Trunks arrives from the future one again for the battle. Yamcha is their first victim. While Kuririn picks up Yamcha, the rest of the Z warrios get to the fighting spot. The androids were created by Dr. Gero, a scientist that belonged to the Red Ribbon patroll. Dr. Gero turned himself into an android. He is one of the two menaces. The other android is known as android #19, or C-19. He programmed #19 to destroy Goku (Dr. Gero hates Goku because he was the one that destroyed the Red Ribbon patrol as a child, in Dragon Ball). Both androids have a mechanism to absorb their enemy's energy, but Goku still fights them skillfully. Goku seems to be stronger than #19, but then he starts to feel weakness because of the sickness Trunks warned him of. #19 takes advantage of Goku's situation and attacks him brutally. Piccolo trys to help him, but is attacked by #20 (Dr. Gero). Gohan helps Piccolo, and hurts #19. Then Vejita appears, and easily destroys #19. Meanwhile, the Z warriors chase #20, who was trying to run away. Trunks then explains that those were not the androids that threatened the future. He affirms that those from his future are stronger than these ones. Goku is taken home so that he can rest and get better. After chasing #20 to his laboratory, the warriors then discover C-20 is Dr. Gero. In his lab, Dr. Gero unleashes the androids known as #17 and #18. These androids don't need the energy-stealing devices, because they have unlimited energy. They're humans turned to androids. The new androids rebel and destroy Dr. Gero. They wake up Dr. Gero's most powerful creation, android #16. Dr. Gero was afraid of waking this android up, he said his powers are impossible to controll. #16 is 100% machine.
Vejita fights android #18, a blonde girl. Android #18 beats Vejita really easily, he's no match for the androids. Trunks trys to help his father, but, he too is defeated. Picccolo is defeated too.
The two androids then retire to follow their main order in their programming: kill Goku. Goku is still really sick. Meanwhile Bulma finds a time-travelling machine, just like the one Trunks came in, but with sever damage. After checking the machine's programming, Trunks realizes the machine comes three years before he set to the present time in the future, and that it arrived a year before Goku arrived from Yardatt. Inide the machine there was an egg, and a giant insect's skin.
Piccolo has decided to stand up to the androids, so he visits Kami-sama and fusions with him! Then bad news arrive, the habitants of a small town have disappeared. The responsible for all this is Cell, another creation of Dr. Gero. Cell has the DNA information from Goku, Vejita, Freezer, King Cold and Piccolo. So he is able to do all the special techniques from all these fighters. Cell wasn't supposed to be ready until the future, Trunks's future, but he stole Trunks's time machine and came back to the present, (he couldn't find the androids he was supossed to fusion with) so that is why he is here now. So the time-machine and the insect's skin that Bulma, Gohan and Trunks found belonged to Cell. Before arriving into the present, Cell turned himself into and egg, so he'd be ready when Goku arrived. That explains the egg and the insect's skin, Cell grew up in the present. So Piccolo Fights Cell and is winning.
Then Vejita and the rest of all the Z crew arrive. Cell uses the Taiyo-Ken (a technique that uses the user's Ki and creates a powerful flash of light that blinds the opponent) and escapes. Trunks and Kuririn are amazed at Piccolo's powers, which are bigger than even Vejita's. To avoid Cell to become a perfect being Trunks gets to Dr. Gero's lab and destroys it, including the plans of the perfect weapon. You see, Cell now is at his weakest form. Cell has the ability to absorb other beings' energy, in order to become stronger. He is also programmed to fusion with two androids, that way he'll reach his perfect form. But Cell ignores how these two androids look like, which by the way are #18 and #17. Cell keeps on absorbing other people's energy, killing them. Then, Goku wakes up. He's finally recovered. Goku doesn't waste a second and takes Gohan to Kami-Sama's temple, where they'll train in the room of time. In this room, a day equals a year. Vejita and Trunks will train first. Meanwhile Piccolo fights the androids. Piccolo's powers are slightly above #17's, but Piccolo's energy isn't ilimited, and the android's energy is. So Piccolo is about to be defeated, but then Cell arrives. Piccolo attacks Cell, but he isn't able to destroy him now; Cell's gotten stronger after absrobing all those people's energy. He beats Piccolo, almost destroying him. Cell then starts to fight the androids, and he tries to absorb #16, but he is unable to absorb him, because that's not the android he was programed to absorb. Cell then realizes #18 and #17 are the ones he has to absorb. He absorbs C-17, and takes a new, stronger look.
Tien shin han sacrifices his life in order to defeat Cell, but his efforts are useless. Goku then teleports to where the battle is taking place, and rescues Piccolo. When Goku gets back to Kami-Sama's temple, Vejita and Trunks have finished their training.
Vejita then gets to Cell, and fights him off easily. Vejita, showing superiority, lets Cell swallow #18 so he'll be a stronger being. But Bulma had designed a remote-controlled device that is able to deactivate #18. This device is handled to Kuririn. Trunks isn't willing to let Cell fusion with #18, he is able to stop him too. But Vejita attacks Trunks in order to let Cell evolve. Cell goes to #18, Kuririn was supposed to deactivate #18, but, touched by the kiss she gave him, destroys the device and tells #18 to run away. But Cell reaches for the android and swallows #18, reaching his perfect form.
Meanwhile Goku is training with Gohan, and he trys to make Gohan reach the Super Saiyajin level. Goku is able to awaken the real powers of his son, and finally Gohan turns into a super saiyan! Meanwhile Vejita attacks Cell, but he is unable to create any damage to him. Vejita uses his "final flash" in order to destroy Cell, but he is only able to destroy part of his body, and Cell regenerates. Cell then knocks out Vejita. Then Trunks decides to fight Cell. Trunks gets to a very high lever, higher than Super Saiyajin, in which he gets really strong and grows his muscular mass, but this also makes him a lot slower, and he is beaten. He realizes Vejita was able to make that transformation too, but would find it useless. Far away from there, Kuririn revives Vejita with a magic seed. Trunks tells Cell he can kill him, but Cell refuses. He asked how had Trunks raised his powers, but Trunks doesn't answer. Kuririn takes #16 to Bulma so that she could fix him, because he was attacked by Cell. Cell then organizes the Cell Game, inviting by TV all the fighters from all Earth to fight him, and the fights' result will decide Earth's fate. Meanwhile, Goku and Gohan finish their training with an abundant meal. The warriors then rest for 9 days, and then set to fight Cell. In those nine days, C-16 was repaired. Mr. Satan says he'll beat Cell in no time. He's pathetically defeated. Goku starts fighting Cell. The fight seems very equal, until Goku throws a Chou Kamehame-ha to Cell.
Cell is divided into two, but, he regenerates before the amazement of the Z crew! Then Goku announces he quits. He handles a magic seed to Cell and orders Gohan to fight. Everybody thinks Goku is crazy, but Gohan obeys his father. Gohan starts to fight, and Cell, enraged by Goku's decision, attacks Gohan brutally. The scared chid doesn't know what to do, and Cell gets bored. To make Goku fight, Cell takes the magic seeds from Kuririn. C-16 attacks Cell; his plan was to auto-destruct in order to defeat Cell, but Kuririn informs him that Bulma disabled his bomb when she fixed him. So his plan failed. Cell destroys C-16 in a thousand pieces. His head is sent far away with a kick. Then cell expulses from his body little androids similar to him, in order to make Gohan fight. The little andrids, Cell juniors, are very powerful and give the Z warriors something to worry about. C-16 asks Mr. Satan to take his head to Gohan, and he does (after doubting it a lot). C-16 tells Gohan he has to fight, but Cell crushes his head, making Gohan very angry... AND HE TURNS INTO THE CHOU SUPER SAIYAJIN!!! See Gohan transform!
This is a level that is much higher than any Super saiyan. He destroys the Junior Cells easily, takes the magic seeds from cell, and starts hitting him. Gohan hits Cell so bad, he throws up android #18, returning him to his second form. Cell then realizes he is no match for Gohan and self-destructs himself. Before he explodes, Goku takes him to Kaio's planet, and Cell explodes there. That was Goku's sacrifice. Kaio-Sama is upset with Goku, but he did save Earth after all... But Cell regenerates once more, from a living brain Cell. Since he had Saiyajin cells, he is even stronger now. He kills Trunks with a powerful ray. Vejita attacks Cell enraged by his son's death, but he is unable to cause any damage to the monster. Then Goku talks to Gohan, encouraging him, and finally Gohan sends the definitive Kamehame-ha!
Thus is defeated Cell, but, once again, Goku is missing... Then the Dragon Balls are re-united and thousands of people are brought back to life, including Trunks. Goku talks to the warriors and says he'd rather remain dead, because he is conscient he attracts the problems, and besides he wants to meet some fighters from the world of the dead. Peace reigns once more in Earth, and Trunks sets to his future. He then realizes nothing has changed in his future, but he also realizes he is now able to Kill easily both androids. He also kills Cell before he sets to the past. This is the end of the Cell Saga!
