Description Tenchi Masaki, a Japanese school boy in Okayama, Japan. He was living his normal life doing chores and training with his grandpa until 6 alien women all fell in love with him.
His life has drastically changed, and with all the women competing for his love it just might be too much for him to handle. Just how much love does one Earth boy have to give?
Description Ayeka is the First Crowned Princess of Jurai. Part of a noble bloodline known throughout the universe as the Jurai Royal Family.
Ayeka is stranded on Earth after an encounter with the space pirate Ryoko. Among her goals winning Tenchi Masaki's love seems to be near the top.
Her and Ryoko are always fighting over Tenchi, sometimes involving the destruction of property. The fight over Tenchi's love will definitely make sparks.
Description The only other victim than Tenchi, Kiyone has a sane and sober personality, and is a highly skilled Galaxy Police officer.
In her past she was unluckily paired with Mihoshi, and her entire career was doomed from that moment on. As time went on she quickly fell down the ranks and it was all because of Mihoshi. Kiyone wishes that Mihoshi would be found dead, so that her nightmare could end.
Description Ryoko, the most wanted space pirate in the universe. After encountering Tenchi on planet Earth she seems to forget her criminal life.
Now Ryoko is always fighting over Tenchi with any women who interferes, especially Ayeka.
Ryoko has many abilities which prove useful at times such as teleporting, flying, flying through walls, creating energy swords, shooting energy blasts, and flirting (This is used on Tenchi!)
Description The mad scientist who was exiled from the science academy, Washu is the greatest genius in the universe, but with her making different dimensions all over the house something is bound to happen.
She is always inventing something new or improving on something old, but when trying to explain it to the gang, they all seem a bit confused. Washu has also given herself the nickname, "Little Washu."
Sasami:
Sasami is Aeka's perpetually cheerful little sister. Blue ponytail hair and pink eyes, Sasami is cute and she knows it. Always very polite, she helps with many chores around the house and makes a mean cup of tea if asked (probably her only flaw is mischievous streak that sometimes gets her and others in trouble). Sasami is Ryo-oh-ki's special perch.
OVA/TV:
In the OVA Sasami arrives with Aeka and plays a supportive role at the Masaki household. Later she reveals she merged with Tsunami as a child after a terrible accident. In the TV series Sasami is stranded on Earth after Ryo-oh-ki crashes into her ship trying to get a carrot. She meets a ghostly friend, Mirei, on the way back to Jurai.
Pretty Sammy:
Sasami is chosen as the champion for Tsunami, the future ruler of the magical world. Tsunami gives her the power to transform into Pretty Sammy and fight for good on earth. All the primary Tenchi Muyo characters make appearances in this spin-off, along with new characters, including Misao, Pixy Misa, Rumiya, Ramiya, Biff Standard .
Seedlings:
Sasami and Tsunami are specially linked, and Sasami can travel anywhere there is a Jurai tree (OVA Ep. 6). Though it appears Sasami possesses ESP in the series, it is Tsunami who is influencing her through the link.
Nobuyuki, Tenchi's lecherous father, is overjoyed at having several young pretty women stay at his home. A widower, his hobbies include peeping and taping pretty women. Nobuyuki works as an architect and designed the house Tenchi lives in.
Seedlings:
Nobuyuki and Katsuhito (Yosho) look similar because they are actually distantly related. Yosho has had several wives since moving to earth 700 years ago. His children have had children, who have also had children, and Nobuyuki is on of those distant offspring. Intermarriage of distant relations in royalty is quite common (Aeka was originally engaged to marry Yosho, her half brother [OVA Ep. 2]), thus Achika's marriage to Nobuyuki would not seem unusual to the Jurai.
