Before you know about Quatre's past, you need to know about how the move to the colonies affected humans and lifestyles. Pregnancies were greatly affected during the move from Earth to space, and as a result all of Quatre's sisters were born as test-tube babies. This led Quatre to believe that he was a test-tube baby as well, created to suit his family's needs. In reality, however, Quatre is the only child of the Winner family to have been actually born from a person- his mother died in giving birth to him, sadly. So Quatre grows up thinking that he is a creation and isn't very happy with it. Some time later, a Winner ship is hijacked by none other than the Maganac Corps of the Middle East. Rasid is busy having a conversation with Quatre's daddy and Quatre is listening, and Quatre rushes in at one point to complain about being a creation and being made to suit his family. At this point, Rasid, our loving Rasid, our caring Rasid, slaps Quatre. *shock* Rasid says that the Maganacs, including himself, are test-tube babies, and they're damn proud of it, too. Quatre sees things a little differently now. It so happens that, while this is going on, there is a leak in the Maganac Corps who is giving out info that, well, shouldn't be given out. Quatre finds this guy out and ties him up. Unfortunately, there is a MS battle on the way. Even more unfortunate, the prisoner breaks out of his bonds and pulls a gun on Rasid. *time to be noble* Quatre gets in the way of the bullet, but it only wounds his arm and goes on to injure Rasid more severely. Quatre feels that this is all his fault for not tying the prisoner tight enough. Rasid is not able to pilot his MS, so Quatre offers to go for him. Quatre, being wounded and all, leads the Maganacs to a resounding victory and everybody's happy. ^.^ Rasid sees Quatre's potential with MS and, in thanks for what he has done, Rasid gives Quatre his goggles. *betcha didn't know that!* Later on, Instructor H recruits Quatre to pilot Sandrock. So that's how we get to AC 195 with Quatre. ^.^

At age four Shirubaa Orochi's parents died of an explosion, only he survived. It was then that he decided he wanted nothing to do with humans and set off into the never ending forest. Little did he know he was one of the few people who could talk to snakes so he soon learned to love and live with them till he was nine. He told his snake family he grew tired of no human contact. They told him they expected this and told him they will not stop him. So Shirubaa set off into the city with his mastery of magic and Psychic powers and little know how of the fighting arts and last his pure silver Saxofono(a native instrument to the planet) with a unique snake head to honor his family. After a few years of training him self he was forced to battle with a creature 12 times his size. At the edge of death a being out of nowhere appeared and saved Shirubaa's life. Together they defeated the creature easily. Shirubaa asked the woman her name at that point. She repliyed "Nanashi Shinigami Kigaru." From that day forth they became friends. Nanashi continues to train Shirubaa to become a better fighter.
