The Saiyan Legends

History- The Saiyajin are a warrior race that live to fight. Their past is quite interesting, long ago a ship with prehistoric humanoids with tails named Sayans landed on a planet named "Plant." They were a very barbaric race and lived only for fighting, making them immediate enemies of the peaceful Tsufuru, the original inhabitants of the planet. While weak, the Tsufuru had the weapons and technology to fend off the cave-Sayans. The full moon only came once every 8 years on planet Plant, and on one of those nights the Sayans unleashed their power. Transforming into Oozaru (giant monkeys, think King Kong) and destroying the Tsufuru. After stealing their technology, the Sayans formed an alliance with Freezer, an intergalactic tyrant. The now called Saiyajin wiped out life on planets and sold them to Freezer, but the Saiyajin were getting too strong and in 1 swift blast Freezer destroyed the planet that was renamed Vegeta. After that only 4 Saiyajin were left:

Kakarotto: A weak Saiyajin who was sent to Earth at birth, but forgot his mission after hitting his head.
Radditz: Kakarotto's older brother, weak for a Saiyajin, but viewed to be much stronger than Kakarotto.
Nappa: Vegeta's body guard. Decent strength for a Saiyajin. Was away with Vegeta when Planet Vegeta went was destroyed.
Vegeta: The Prince of the Saiyajin Race. Worked for Freeza, later went to live on earth to defeat Kakarotto.

Radditz and Nappa died, leaving only Gokou and Vegeta. They both had children with humans, these were 1/2 Saiyajin and 1/2 human making them extremely strong. The children are:

Son Gohan: Kakarotto's first son. The strongest fighter of all in DBZ. To reach his powerful state, he must be triggered with anger.
Mirai Trunks: The Saiyan fighter from the future.
Chibi Trunks: The younger version of Mirai Trunks, goes Super Saiyajin at the age of 8, he lived in peace but couldn't live up to his potential power.
Son Goten: A smaller look-a-like of Gokou, like Chibi Trunks he goes Super Saiyajin at 7.
Bra: Vegeta's daughter, no fighting power considering she was never trained.
Son Gohan had a daughter named Pan with a human (Videl), making her 1/4 Saiyajin.

What will happen to the Saiyajin if this trend continues?

If things keep going at this rate, Pan's grand children should be near ordinary humans and the Saiyajin power in their blood will be extremely minimal.

What is an Oozaru? How is it reached?

When a Saiyajin looks at the full moon, a reaction begins in its tail and it transforms into a giant monkey. If the Saiyajin does not have a tail the transformation will not work. There are many moons but it only works with a full moon.

What is Super Saiyajin Level 1 to 4?

When a Saiyajin reaches a VERY high power level (800,000 or higher on a scouter) his body must change to handle any more strength, this transformation is produced when a huge amount of rage triggers the transformation. SSJ2 is beyond SSJ and is like going Super Saiyajin when you're Super Saiyajin. It takes even more rage and stress to become SSJ2. SSJ3 seems different. Gokou reaches it only by training, it's less of a step up than SSJ2. SSJ Oozaru is a wierd event that happens in GT, by going Oozaru when in SSJ it forms the ORIGINAL form of the Saiyajin (giant golden monkeys), it's extremely powerful. SSJ4 returns to the basics, rage, stress, AND sorrow contribute to the transformation. There is also one more Stage that isn't explained very thoroughly in Dragon Ball called "The Ultra Saiyajin." This is a special level between 1 and 3 but not equal to 2 giving a Saiyajin an extremely powerful appearance. For most Saiyajins, this level is reached by training in the Room of Spirit and Time, the only exception however is Broly, The Legendary Super Saiyajin (explained later in this section).

Kaio Upgrade! What the hell is that?

Dai Kaioshin gave Son Gohan a power upgrade stronger than SSJ3 to defeat Buu, this upgrade is different than SSJ, Gohan has black spiky hair and sharp eyebrows and an extremely high power level. However, when Gohan has his Kaio Upgrade he is unable to turn SSJ on Earth without its destruction. Due to the fact that SSJ with the Kaio Upgrade would almost be equivalent to a SSJ6 it would be most likely destroy the planet.

Who is Broly?

Broly is THE Legendary Super Saiyajin. He appeared in DBZ Movie 8 and was shown to be exiled from planet Vegeta. Gokou traumatized him when he was young by crying 24 hours straight. While Gokou had a strength of 10 Broly had 10,000 when they were first born, which is strong for an adult Saiyajin. He came back for revenge twice (DBZ Movies 10, 11) to try and kill Gokou but was not able to defeat him. He was also the first person to reach "Ultra Saiyajin" which is why when he fought the other characters he seemed so much more powerful.

Who is Taurus and why does he look like Goku's twin?

Many people have claimed that Taurus and Gokou are twin brothers, but suprisingly they're not. Taurus and Gokou are simply low level soldiers that resemble each other. There were relatively few Saiyajin thus making the gene pool very small. This explains why so many Saiyajin resemble each other. He has only appeared once in DBZ Movie 3.
