Beer Review: Some Like It Hop IPA
Upon arriving at the District ChopHouse & Brewery, Growler Gal and myself found ourselves surrounded by 40-something Bruce Springsteen fans flashing their gold cards and sporting their tour shirts from years past. I felt young and in need of a good beer. I ordered the 'Some Like it Hop' IPA and it fit the bill. This light-colored golden ale had a slightly fruity aroma and light body. The carbonation was not over the top, which was nice. The DC&B has an interesting beer board that rates each beer by bitterness, body and color. They gave their IPA a 10/10 on the bitterness scale. I have to disagree. It was nicely hopped but nothing near a Hop Devil or Hop Pocket. I was able to taste other beers after this one. The SLIH IPA was a refreshing and somewhat fruity bitter. While the Boss may have preferred the light lager, I have always been a fan of the pint of bitter. -- Growler Guy
