Beer Review: Dominion Millennium
First produceded to celebrate the 1000th batch of beer brewed at Old Dominion, this very strong ale is made 'in the English Barley Wine style'. OD says that the 1994 and 1995 versions of Millennium have become collectors' items. This style, like other barleywines, improves over time due to the fermentation that occurs within the bottle. At 11.4%, the OD Millennium I tried packed quite a punch. Getting hit never felt so good, though, as I absolutely loved this beer! Medium in both color and body, this was slightly cloudy (probably the sediments from the 'bottle conditioning'). Fruity and hoppy notes were on the aroma, and fruit notes and hints of hops were present on the taste. Smooth and yummy, this is quite a potent beer -- drink (and enjoy) with care! -- Brewmeister G
