Beer Review: Gettysbrew Big Red One
The description of this beer said it was made, in part, using Whitbread hops and the 'dry hopping' process, recalling to my mind two recent reviews The King had contributed to the SBR -- Whitbread Pale Ale and Otter Creek Pale Ale (the latter includes an explanation of the 'dry hopping' technique). Anyway, back to the beer! The Big Red One possessed a nice medium color and a hoppy aroma, an aroma which also contained hints of fruitiness. Surprisingly, this pale ale was medium-to-light in body (I had thought it'd be heavier). The third smooth beer in a row, this offering from Gettysbrew had a hoppy taste with a bit o' spice throughout. Less hoppy than many pale ales I have had, this was nonetheless a good beer. -- Brewmeister G
