Beer Review: Stone Ruination IPA
Recommended to me by the guy who put the 'Norm' in Norm's Beer & Wine (i.e. Norm himself), I felt great anticipation at the prospect of this beer 'ruining' my taste buds. At a reported 100-plus ibu's, this brew was going to be wayyyy hoppier than any that I had previously tried (Tupper's Hop Pocket Ale is around 80 ibu and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is around 70, I believe). Medium-to-lighter in color, this beer had an aroma to it that I finally decided reminded me of pineapple juice with a hint of hops at the end. Interesting, eh? Then came the first sip.... Whew! Hops! I had expected the huge hit of hops, but I also found this brew to be smoother than I had thought it would be, despite the sharp hoppiness. I could feel the hops scouring the greasy chili I had had for dinner from my throat. Wow! A definite must-try for any who profess to be a hop-head! -- Brewmeister G
