Chinchillas For Sale
As many of you probably already know, chinchillas have a 111 day gestation period. This is the time from conception to delivery of the kit. Normal chinchilla litters contain one or two babies. Although, three kits are not uncommon, and four is possible, but it doesn't happen often.
I have twelve pairs in breeding right now, some of which are young, and have not yet had litters. I usually allow my moms to have one or two litters a year. It is healthier for them to have a rest period in between litters. So, I don't always have kits for sale.. But I promise that when I do, I will post the news along with pictures in this part of my website.
Here is a list of the colors I often have for sale:
-standard gray, hetero and homo beige, black and brown velvets, mosaic, pink white, violet, hetero and homo ebonies, pastels and tans,
....and we are proud to announce that The Chin Hut is one of few breeders on the eastern coast to be introducing Sapphire chinchillas into our herd!
Our prices are set individually based on the fur quality and personality of each kit. Almost all of our chins come from excellent show lines, and have been imported to us from all over the country. I will post the price of the babies along with their pictures.
I do take deposits on kits as soon as they're born. So be sure to check back often for new litters!
CURRENT CHINS FOR SALE:
Updated 9/30/02
We have several kits for sale right now, but they aren't quite ready to go to new homes yet. They need a few more weeks to be totally weaned. Without further a dew, here they are:
1. Born 8/15, From Tilly (Hetero ebony, violet carrier) and Phoenix's (Violet) QUAD LITTER!!!...still unspoken for are a violet male (bottom), and a light hetero-ebony violet carrier male (top). They are weaned, but can not go to new homes until the week of 10/10. The violet is $200 and his brother is $125.
2. Born 9-21, From Enolla (Tan) and Cole (Homo Ebony), we have a little ebony male. We believe he is a homo ebony, but he is looking light. So we have to go on the slight chance he could be a hetero eb. He is $175, and will not be able to go home until the weekend of 11/16.
3. And last but not least, born 9-23, from Suzie (White Ebony) and Dart (Tan), we have two white ebonies. The male (right) and the female (left) are each $175, and should be ready to go to new homes during the week of 11/18.
