CTA of Switzerland was one of the original operators of the MD-87 ultimately operating a total of four of the type. In the above photo we see HB-IUB taxing to the gate after arrival in Geneva. On January 1, 1993 Balair and CTA joined forces creating the new airline BalairCTA. In the above photo we see (HB-IUA) wearing the new livery. The aircraft went on to operate for SAS as (LN-RMX) and currently flies the skies of Mexico with Aeromexico as (N214AM). (Photo Michael Carter Collection)

This MD-87 of Japan Air System (JAS) prepares for departure on another short domestic flight. The airline operates a total of eight MD-87s having taken delivery of their first aircraft on June 6, 1988 (JA8278) and the last (JA8373) on March 9, 1992 which was the 75th of 76 MD-87s built.
