VuelaMex EI-CWK (55152/5085) Del. 05/23/2002 to AirTran as N989AT

New Mexico City based VuelaMex Airlines is attempting to raise up out of the ashes of Taesa Airlines that went out of service last year. The new airline chose the MD95 for its reliability and fuel economy. The airline has ordered four MD95s EI-CWJ (55068/5065), EI-CWK (55152/5085), EI-CWN (55134/5088), and EI-CWM (55135/5090) all of which are currently in storage at Long Beach until VuelaMex receives its operating certificate from the Mexican Government.
