Southwest Airlines (Introduces new Color Scheme)
Since the inaugural flight 30 years ago on June 18, 1971, Southwest 737's have worn the colors of the Desert Southwest (Desert Gold, Warm Red, and Orange) making them the most recognizable aircraft fleet in the world. On January 16, 2001, Southwest introduced a new coporate image with the unveiling of the new "Canyon Blue" color scheme, surprising airliner enthusiasts around the world. Ceremonies were held in a Southwest Airlines Maintenace Hanger at Love Field, where two new 737-7H4 aircraft (N793SA) "Spirit One" and (N794SW) "Spirit Two" were unveiled to employees. The day following the ceremonies the two aircraft with 19 original Southwest employees departed on a 20-city tour of the Southwest system to introduce the new look.

On short final to Rwy 25L at Las Vegas, Nevada (LAS) the new "Canyon Blue" color scheme glows in the early morning desert sun. Along with the new exterior look the interior also recieved a face lift with new "Canyon Blue" and "Saddle Tan" leather seats along with "Canyon Blue" carpeting giving the new look interior a very warm and relaxing atmosphere to move about the country in.
