Columns is heading for Game boy Advance!! You remember columns don't you?? Do you?? Well, to for those who don't know, columns is a Tetris style puzzler that first made its appearance on the Mega Drive, and more suitable the Game Gear, so its only fitting that it should appear on another hand held, the best in fact.
Columns is the next Sega game to head over to the little Ninty wonder, following Chu Chu Rocket and Sonic Advance.
The gameplay of columns is as simple as Tetris, multicoloured gems fall down the screen, put three or more of the same colour together to make 'em disappear, paving the way for more lovely gems. The better you do, the faster they fall!!
Now although this game is ancient history (strictly speaking) the GBA version will have all new modes o add a bit of life to it. These include a story mode, which gives the point behind falling gems, and as for most GBA games now, a 2player versus mode, which would well with the "2player friendly" GBA .
Advance Columns will also feature a load of power up for you to fiddle around with, including Stop (probably to stop gems), reverse (to send 'em backwards if your getting clogged) and laser (to blast a whole line of gems??). Obviously, GBA Columns will have better graphics!!
Columns should be great on Game boy Advance, especially if you love Tetris but need a bit of a change. Being a puzzle game will do the GBA justice and vice versa, I doubt columns will be a disappointment for Sega!!
With Sonic and now Columns both coming from the Mega Drive, I want to know where Streets Of Rage is???
