The Sega Master System
|
The Sega Master System was first released in 1985 to do battle with Nintendo's NES that had been released at roughly that time. The Master System was technically more powerful than the NES with much better graphics, new advanced technology such as the Sega Scope and 3D glasses, and much better games. The 8-bit wonder did surprisingly well in Europe, though in America Nintendo did their best ruin Sega's plans by signing up all of the third party developers.
Though the Master System was truly superior, Nintendo won the 8-bit console war by unleashing its army of Mario games, something Sega couldn't cope with. The Master System had some amazing moments however. My fondest memory being Alex The Kidd!
