VALVE COVER

well i decided to custom paint my valve cover. if you notice, it looks similar to my brakes...that's because i used the same stuff, lol. the first step was to strip off all the old paint, dirt, etc. i used this aircraft paint stripper stuff. works wonders, got everything off. after this i masked off what i didnt want painted. you can see in the base coat pics what i masked off (areas around spark plugs, oil cap hole, breater, and some other pics areas). the second step was to put the base coat down. i actually thought about keeping the valve cover this color bc it actually looked really nice. it was like a metallic silver. the pics dont really show how nice it looked with just the base coat. anyway third step was to spray the blue on. then i let everything dry overnite. next morning i peeled off the masking taped areas. then for the fun part. scraping/sanding off the paint on the VTEC/Honda areas. i found using a razor blade to be the easiest method. but you have to be careful and patient. i only made a few minor messups. anyway, after all that, i put on new gaskets (valve cover gasket and spark plug o rings) and installed. im pretty darn happy with it :)
