(Convair 540)
(1) The Cosmopolitan provided reliable service from 1960
until
its retirement in 1994. 10915 is shown taxiing at El Paso
International
Airport in

(4) 109159 taxiing to the runway 04 at ELP in
1993. This
was to be the last active CC109 I was to see. (CB)
CC115 Buffalo
(1) The CC115 Buffalo has been in service
since 1967 and is still
providing SAR service for the CAF. Initial
they were also used as
transports, as
115453 was when
photographed at El Paso in 1980. (CB)
(2) 465 at ELP in 1988. In this
photo she shows a
different type of camouflage from the RAF type on
453. (CB)
(3) Five years later 465 has adopted the
yellow SAR
scheme. (CB)
CC130 Hercules
(C-130E Hercules)
(1) The C-130 has been a workhorse for the CAF
since its
introduction to servivce in 1960. The RCAF and
later CAF, have
flown the C-130B, E and
H.
130307 is a C-130E, photographed at El Paso in

(2) 319 is shown sitting on the transient ramp
in 1985. (CB)

CC138 Twin Otter

(1) Just as many civilian operator, the CAF has
found the Twin
Otter to be a very rugged airframe. Well
suited for Arctic
operations, the CC138 is
no more out of place in
the middle of

airliner and all CT142s are operated by 402
Squadron.
