Musee d'Orsay &
Diana Memorial

Another museum I just HAD to see was the Musee d'Orsay.  It contains painting from the 19th century..1848 to 1914 to be precise.  I ended up giving a presentation on this place for my Museum class.  My trip has paid off!

Monet

Me and Monet!  Ok, I realize that these pictures are just me in front of my favorite paintings, but I couldn't resist!
Ooh, so risque!

Ooh, how risque this painting is!  A classic Degas, it is an offtake of Manet's Olympia, which is an offtake of Titian's Venus di Urbano.  I love it when they do that.

Van Gogh

Wahey, it's Van Gogh!  This is an actual village church too.  It would be neat to go and see someday.
Degas-Prima Ballerina

Some of the paintings are kept in dark rooms like these. This is Degas's Prima Ballerina.  Classic.  Elegent.
What more do you want?

Van Gogh bedroom

Another Van Gogh, this time it's his bedroom at Arles. A lot of the Orsay pictures I took with my camera instead of digital, since I wanted to put them in an album.
Van Gogh- Self Portrait

And yet one more.  This museum has lots of them!  He doesn't look very happy.  I'm trying to see what his expression feels like.

Diana Memorial

Now leaving the museum *sigh* but we came across the tunnel where Princess Diana met her fate.  The torch behind us is a replica of the Statue of Liberty torch but it has become a memorial to Diana.
Our Message to Diana!

The stone barrier where are hands are in the other picture is still covered with Diana messages in several different languages.  Here we left our own mark.  18th September 2002.
Restaurant

Just outside the Notre Dame is a very nice cafe with delicious food.  It is also reasonably priced (for Paris).  No, they didn't pay me to advertise..hehe
Mmmm Crepes!

Their chocolate crepes were delicious!
Can you tell?
