Tasmania, an Island State South of mainland Australia, is considered one of the safest, cleanest and most beautiful places in the world.
A question which would no doubt be on the mind of any interested party. If you follow the Tourism Website link below you will find, amongst other things, a history which explains how we, Mike and Shauna Buscombe, purchased the property in 1990 after discovering that Prospect House was built and owned by my great great grandfather in 1830.
We had dreams of staying here forever, perhaps our sons taking over the business or even getting to the stage where we could close the business and simply live in the beautiful buildings as my ancestors did.
Circumstances change, sons don't always follow in their parents' footsteps and other opportunities arise. After 12 years, it is time for a change. Shauna is practising in her profession as a Psychologist and I have decided to follow my dreams at the ripe old age of 47, of becoming a professional musician as per the "Mike's reason for selling" website link below.
Are we sad at the prospect of selling our ancestral home? Yes of course we are but life is full of new challenges and excitement and we are looking forward to change.

Prospect House is situated in the Coal River Valley, a fast growing Boutique Wine Region with several recent multi million dollar investments from France, America, China and major Australian wineries. Prospect House with 23 acres and one of the most imposing Georgian Buildings in Australia is well suited as a Boutique Winery, especially with the irrigation rights. Land either side of Prospect House could also be purchased should a larger vineyard be desirable. Town water is on site and a sewerage plant exists that could be connected up to the mains sewerage 800 metres away should that be required. The location for a Winery development could not be better with Richmond as the second most visited town in Tasmania, the rich irrigated land and the already existing infrastructure.
Reception Centre:
There is plenty of room for a tastefully constructed large reception centre to capitalise on the growing convention industry. This could be used for Weddings, Functions, Product Launches as well as Conferences and Conventions.
Stately Home:
Another alternative for this spectacular property is to simply live in it. Imagine living in such a beautiful mansion in one of the safest, cleanest and most beautiful places in the world. The Tourism Accommodation could be converted into all sorts of uses such as music rooms, childrens' private accommodation, personal office space and of course private guest accommodation.
