We had dreams of staying here forever, perhaps our sons taking over the business or even getting to the stage where we could close the business and simply live in the beautiful buildings as my ancestors did.
Circumstances change, sons don't always follow in their parents' footsteps and other opportunities arise. After 12 years, it is time for a change. Shauna is practising in her profession as a Psychologist and I have decided to follow my dreams at the ripe old age of 47, of becoming a professional musician as per the "Mike's reason for selling" website link below.
Are we sad at the prospect of selling our ancestral home? Yes of course we are but life is full of new challenges and excitement and we are looking forward to change.

Prospect House is situated in the Coal River Valley, a fast growing Boutique Wine Region with several recent multi million dollar investments from France, America, China and major Australian wineries. Prospect House with 23 acres and one of the most imposing Georgian Buildings in Australia is well suited as a Boutique Winery, especially with the irrigation rights. Land either side of Prospect House could also be purchased should a larger vineyard be desirable. Town water is on site and a sewerage plant exists that could be connected up to the mains sewerage 800 metres away should that be required.The location for a Winery development could not be better with Richmond as the second most visited town in Tasmania, the rich irrigated land and the already existing infrastructure.
