"WHAT?!" AJ looked at Glyn as if she'd grown another head or two.

"I'm sorry, I didn't think they'd want to hire me! Don't me mad, please don't be mad at me.." Glyn hung her head.

"Why didn't you TELL me? Why now? I don't want you to leave." AJ took both her hands in his.

"I applied ages ago. Then they never called or wrote and I thought that basically that meant they didn't want me so.."

"But.. you can't leave. You aren't accepting the job, right? You're going to stay here."

"Of course I'm taking the job! I'm not crazy! I can't be unemployed forever."

"But.. London." He said the word as if it meant eternal damnation for both of them.

"It isn't like I'll never see you again." Glyn said gently. "I mean, if it works out I'll be getting quite a bit of cash, at least enough extra to spend on a plane ticket or two.."

"But it never works! I would know. Long distance things never work." AJ shook his head. "What about Marian? Who's going to help her pay rent, hm? You can't leave Marian."

"Marian's a big girl, she'll be fine. I'll help her out if she needs it too. Why can't you see that I have to do this?"

"How can you leave when everything just started? I need you here Glyn. Don't you understand? You can't go."

"Watch me."
