Why Phil Even Bothered to Hit on Me
|
Mid-Summer 1996: Arrived at Dewey
behind the rest of the crowd (my ride, Lusk, was being an a** and
I had to take the Greyhound and Jolly Trolley route!) and decided
a few Lemon Drops was a GOOD idea. An hour later, in the pouring
rain, I was racing Jay from the Cork & Screw to the
Waterfront. I made it about 50 feet before I bit the
cinderblock-covered cement and tore open my palm. BUT I WAS
"FINE," I could walk myself home no problem,
thankyouverymuch!
Uh, huh. Made it a block to Grotto's, felt woozy and approached a
policeman. The next thing I knew, I was in an ambulance on my way
to Beebe Hospital...
Around 2/3 a.m., my wonderful friends from the House of Pain came
to visit me at the hospital to let me know I was officially part
of the in-crowd! I had to wear a soft cast and Ace bandages the
rest of the summer and couldn't swim in the ocean :(
Interesting fact: the scar is in the shape of a wishbone, which is
very appropriate.
Later that summer, Phil Hyatt noticed this cute girl because of
her cast (me!) at the Waterfront and tried to hit on her. It's
truly my lucky little scar because it's the whole reason I met the
man I'm going to marry :)
