Hand print Turkey
Paint the palm of the child's hand and thumb brown.
Then paint each finger a different color. Make the print. Add a "little
red warbler" to the bottom of the thumb print. When dry add feet to hand
print.
Apple Turkeys - Centerpieces
Using an apple, poke 5 toothpicks (like a fan)
into one side, and add a gumdrop to each toothpick. Bend a thick
brown pipe cleaner for the head and add googly eyes!
Indian Corn Napkin Rings

Brush glue all over the rings. Roll in Indian corn.

Take a toilet paper tube and cover it with brown
construction paper. Trace child's (both) hands on white paper and let child
color feathers. Cut out hands. Cut thumb off. Glue hands to back
of tube. Cut out peanut shape for head and glue to the front of tube. Use
a red piece of felt to droop down from top of his head. Add googly eyes.
Colorful Corn on the Cob

the shape of a corn on the cob. Let them glue on colored popped corn all
over the corn cob shape. Add crepe paper to one end for husks.
Turkey Stick Puppets
Help each child trace around their hand on a piece
of heavy white cardboard or card stock. Each child can decorate their "fingers"
with markers or crayons to resemble feathers. Add a face to their "thumb".
Attach a red "warbler" to the thumb, cut from felt or fun foam. Glue to
a popsicle stick to complete the puppet!
Fingerprint Turkeys
paper
brown washable paint
markers
Take a small amount of paint and brush a small
amount on your fingertip and press down on the paper. You can do this several
times and then let dry. With markers, add features like the eyes,

Songs, Finger Plays, Nursery Rhymes
The Turkey (poem)
The turkey is a funny bird
His head goes wobble, wobble,
(move head from side to side)
The only word that he can say
Is gobble, gobble, gobble.
(children walk with a wiggle and
repeat the last line)
Five Little Turkeys
Five little turkeys standing by door,
One waddled off, and then there were four.
Four little turkeys under a tree,
One waddled off , and then there were three.
Three little turkeys with nothing to do,
One waddled off, and then there were two.
Two little turkeys in the noon day sun,
One waddled off, and then there was one.
One little turkey better run away,
For soon will come Thanksgiving day.
Mr. Turkey Song
I heard Mr. Turkey say,
Gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble,
Soon t'will be Thanksgiving day,
Gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble,
People say that it's much fun,
But I think I'll run and run
And hide until the day is done,
Gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble.
