History:
Every man who laces on those boots and steps
into a wrestling ring wants to leave a lasting impression. Every man
wants his legacy to be remembered long after he is gone. Most men come
into this profession and are gone as quickly as they came. While others
enjoy some success, but only a select few will be able to leave his
mark, and have his name be remembered for all time.
Who would have thought one of those select few would be The Lost Soul?
A man who came into the ICWF in October of 1999 without much fanfare.
He was a relative unknown. A wrestler who was tearing up the independant
scene, but never tasted the BIG TIME. The ICWF had many many stars.
And TLS who was a big fish in a small pond, was now a small fish in
a big pond. He was lost amongst the Accelerators, and the Johnny Hunters
and the Deans of the ICWF. No one in their wildest dreams, not even
TLS himself would have imagined that one day, he'd be considered one
of the greatest wrestlers to ever step foot in an ICWF ring.
TLS got his first taste of gold on Novemeber 23,1999, when Scorpion
forfeited the title at Tuesday Night Thunder. But lost it only 7 days
later on November 30 1991 at Prophecies:End of Days Pay-Per-View. After
the loss, TLS lost a couple more matches and quietly disappeared from
the ICWF. It's no secret that TLS wasn't a well liked man in the ICWF
locker room. TLS returned a couple months later on January 18th, defeating
Grimax and Slumlord in a handicapped match. TLS won a couple more matches
and looked as if he was gaining momentum, but yet again, he hit a wall,
and a losing streak began.
TLS began blaming his losing streak on the Owner of the ICWF, ODJ. And
thus the bitter feud between, TLS and ODJ began. ODJ defeated TLS at
Insane Massacre in a contract ladder match. And ODJ's team defeated
TLS's team at Ultimate Survival. Embarrased and humiliated, TLS toiled
around the lower levels of the federation for a couple more months,
and left the ICWF yet again. His last match coming at Bad Blood II.
The ICWF closed it's doors on July 27th, 2000. But re-opened on November
17th. This also marked the return of TLS. TLS entered himelf in a tournament
to crown a new Intercontinental Champion, and easily defeated Dylan
Mason, Steve Strong, Mike Hall, and D Double D to gain a shot at the
title at ironically enough, PropheciesII: The Second Coming. One year
after losing the Hardcore Title, TLS defeated Kidd Foxx to become the
new Intercontinental Champion. TLS went on one of the greatest winning
streaks in the ICWF. Only second maybe to Accelerator's winning streak.
He won 10 wins in row before finaly losing the Intercontinental title
to Kingpin at Genesis 2 Genocide. A man he beat the week before. Once
again it looked as if TLS was hitting a wall. He got his first World
Title shot on February 2, 2001 but was unsuccessful against Handy Man
in a Last Man Standing match.
But this TLS was different than the old TLS we were used to. TLS sought
out help and found it in PIC, Killa Kalli, and Jason Chase. Together
they were known as Total Damnation. One week after losing to handy Man,
he pinned Reaver, for the Universal title, in a 4 way match that included
Handy Man. After the match, Handy Man was attack and was severley injured.
He was forced to Forfeit the World Title. The top 2 contenders. Titan
3, a young rookie who was tearing up the ICWF was set to face TLS at
Insane Massacre II. One year after losing a humiliating loss to ODJ.
TLS did the unthinkable. TLS became the World Champion by defeating
T3. But the match took too much out of him. TLS never got a chance to
defend his title as he was injured, and thus stripped of the title because
he could not defend it. While he was away Total damnation was holding
their own as Killa Kalli and PIC were working their way up the rankings
and winning titles. He returned earlier than expected, and challenged
then Champion Anthony Logan, and Titan 3 to a 3 way match at Deadly
Revenge III. Titan 3 won the match, and once again the ICWF closed it's
doors. This time it was supposed to be for good.
Public demand was too strong. The ICWF re-opned it's doors on February
2, 2002. One of the men that people wanted to see was TLS. But he was
obligated at the time in another federation. The ICWF had been re-opened
or about a month until TLS finally made his return, defeating none other
than Kingpin. The same man who beat him for the IC title. Once again
TLS went on a hot streak. He defeated an up and comer in Andy Murray.
He defeated Alec Begrod. And in one of the most memorable moments of
the year. TLS gotwet justice when his team defeated ODJ's team at Ultimate
Survival on his way to winning the match and earning a shot at the World
Title. Ironically enough the man he beat in the Ultimate Ultimate was
none other than former stable mate Killa Kalli. Who was now teamed alongside
TLS' nemesis Titan 3.
It seems TLS loses matches 2 at a time. He lost to Kylo on Friday Night
heat. And had a title match against Derek Mobley. A man who had beaten
him 2 times before. At Deadly Revenge 4, TLS once again lost to Derek
Mobley.
But who would have thought? TLS once again shocked the world by winning
Masters of the Mat. Defeating none other than Killa Kalli. The Only
person to ever win back to back tournaments. Once again TLS would get
a shot at the World Title. Against who else, but his long time enemy
Titan 3. In a match that will go down as one of the greatest matches
of the year. T3 defeated TLS in a Barbed-Wire Crown match.
One month later at Extreme Measures, TLS was shot while delivering a
promo. And was announced dead on arrival at the Hospital. But once again..
TLS shocked the world, when he "returned from the dead". But
what was more shocking was that TLS had alligned himself with ODJ, who
was having trouble with the different stables like T3's FTF and Dean's
HOP. TLS was entered #30 in the Insane Rumble. TLS was unsuccessful
in winning the Rumble.
After the Rumble TLS reflected on his career and realized that he'd
done all he could do in this business, and washed off the face paint
for good. The man, no one thought would make it, the man who people
ridiculed and mocked, had left the ICWF. But he had also left a lasting
impression.
TLS may not have been the strongest wrestler. He may not have been the
quickest wrestler. Many questioned his abilities. But few will ever
doubt the man's heart. So what seperates an ordinary man from a legend?
It's his heart.
