History:

Whenever someone looks back on the history of the Insane Championship Wrestling Federation, they'll take note of many tremendous events. They'll remember the incredible feud between Johnny "Big Game" Hunter and Dean, with the World Title almost always sitting in the balance. They'll remember the epic, death-defying hardcore matches put on by men like Handy Man, Kylo, Arryk Rage and others. They'll remember men like Titan 3, The Lost Soul, Derek Mobley & El Linchador, who brought fans to their feet throughout the last year of the federation's existence. But through all that, what every true ICWF fan will remember most of all is the incredible dominance of one wrestler: the Accelerator.

When the Accelerator first appeared in the ICWF in September1999, very few people took notice of him. Although he proclaimed himself a 4-time Heavyweight Champion in other organizations, since he had not done anything here, he was largely ignored. So, determined to prove himself worthy of the fans' accolades, the Accelerator began his run. In a period of two weeks, he got victories over the GateKeeper, Lowrider 187, Mercyful Fate, and the Sledgehammer. Since his match with Lowrider was interrupted by outside interference, Ace gave Lowrider a rematch, and defeated him cleanly. This winning streak finally got him noticed by the people in charge, and he was put into a 4-Way Television Title bout with Mozz, the Texas Outlaw, and Vic Vulgar. After Mozz and the Outlaw were quickly eliminated, Ace and Vulgar fought long and hard, but Ace landed the Rollercoaster to earn his first gold.

After this victory, still undefeated at 6-0, Ace offered a shot at the Halloween Riot ppv to the Outlaw, for the title of theToughest Texan in the ICWF. Ace won the Hardcore match over the Outlaw to retain the gold, and get his first ppv win. After getting another victory over a talented newcomer, Johnny Sledge, Ace was contracted to face Vic Vulgar in a rematch for the belt. In Ace/Vulgar II, the fighting was furious. Unfortunately, with Ace nearing the victory, Everlast came in and attacked him, ending the match, and Vulgar's career in the ICWF. The next card, Ace faced Everlast, the winner to receive a shot at the World Title. Ace defeated Everlast in a great match to go on towards the ppv, but the World Champion, Dean, vacated before he could get his shot against him. Instead, Ace faced and defeated another top contender, Chris Stevens, to latch onto the World Title just as the ICWF came to a close.

The victory over a lesser-known opponent caused some to ridicule the title reign, including the former world champion, Dean. To remedy this, a special Best of the Best match was set up for the end of the year, during the awards show, between Ace, Dean, and Johnny "Big Game" Hunter. The fight was greater than anyone expected, with all three believing that this would be the last match of the ICWF. At the end, the Accelerator managed to take down Hunter and retain the World Title, finally proving that he belonged on top of the ICWF. It was announced after the show that the ICWF would be reopening in the year 2000, giving Ace the opportunity to go for the longest title reign in ICWF history.

In January '00, Ace began teaming with Enigma, the Texas Outlaw, and Vic Vulgar against the new threat of the House of Pain 2000. However, the fame and fortune of being the Heavyweight Champion went to Ace's head, and he shocked the world by turning on Enigma and joining HOP2K. This led to the Accelerator defending the World Title in a Buried Alive match against Enigma, where, with some help from Kylo, Ace knocked down another opponent, staying undefeated in singles competition.Ace then moved into the February month as the top heel in the company, becoming the sole leader of HOP2K after disposing of Kylo. Ace's record took its first blemish when Tommy Rocker charged the ring during his match with Ruff Ryder, causing the draw. Ace returned, though, the next week, and defeated both men in a Triple Threat match, getting another win over a Hall of Famer.

The next threat to Ace's run appeared in the form of the original House of Pain, led by the returning Dean. The two groups had it out time and time again, leading up to the main event, an I Quit match between Dean and the Accelerator for the World Title. The match became another great one for the ICWF, as Ace did the unthinkable, making Dean submit for the first time that anyone could remember. The end of the match was marred, though, when Tommy Rocker and Johnny Hunter came down to the ring and went after both men. Hunter, Rocker, and Twiztid would form Bound By Hate to battle the Accelerator and the House of Pain 2000 for the next month. Ace and his crew fought with the group, but did take a loss when Kylo returned, attacking Ace during a 3-on-3 match. At the end of March '00, the two forces finally, fully collided at Ultimate Survival. Ace and Johnny Hunter were the only survivors of the match, which ended in a draw. This put both of them in a Ultimate Survival match, where they continued their battle, along with the other survivors. In the end, though, the Accelerator won out, eliminating Hunter and Blade to become the 2000 Ultimate Survivor.

After beating Dean and Hunter in successive pay-per-views, the Accelerator soon found himself battling a new generation of stars. His first test in April was the Handy Man, in a Hardcore Heavyweight Title Match where Ace barely managed to come out on top. The Accelerator then met the last of Bound By Hate to escape him, Twiztid, at Deadly Revenge II. In a surprisingly short match that was overshadowed by Dean/Hunter V, Ace again walked away the champion. Soon after, Ace's career took a dark turn.

In May '00, the Accelerator came to a card with "Showtime" Mike Hall and Rage to fight Cory Theirot, Lord von Draven, and their newest teammate, Derek Mobley. The match never occured, as both Hall and Rage turned on Ace, instead joining with the rest to form Fear Factor. Ace was left in the ring, laid out by his former allies. The Accelerator soon returned for his revenge, signing a Loser Leaves Town match with Theriot. Ace won, eliminating the leader of Fear Factor from the ICWF. Ace then took down Hall, the man he felt caused Rage, his pupil, to turn on him. When Lord von Draven left the federation rather than fight Ace, that left Ace's way clear to Rage. The two fought in a very violent ambulance match at King of the Ring 2000, with Rage very nearly getting the win. But in the end, Rage ended up in the ambulance, while Ace stayed undefeated.

At the next show, Ace answered a challenge from the final member of Fear Factor, Derek Mobley. The two eventually signed to fight a match, but before it could be completed, Handy Man ran down, trying to help Ace win by hitting Mobley with a chair. When Ace wouldn't accept the help, Handy hit him as well. This renewed the feud between Ace and Handy, and after a few more brawls between the two, the wrestlers fought at Bad Blood II in a historic Iron Man Hardcore match. For 60 minutes, both men inflicted horrible amounts of damage on the other. Ace earned the only pinfall by getting a Belly-to-Belly through two tables. After the match, Rage ran out, attacking both wrestlers.

The next month would see a lot of title changes. Thanks to Ace's help, Handy Man won the Hardcore Title from Rage. A week later, as Ace and Rage fought, Handy Man, who was made the referee, seemed, strangely, to be favoring Rage. When Ace confronted him about it, Handy Man struck him, allowing Rage to roll up Ace and win the Heavyweight Title! The win was later thrown out, as the belt was vacated. At the Insane Rumble 2000, Ace, Rage, and Handy Man met in a Triple Threat, Triple Cage, Triple Title Match. The first to fall was Handy Man, after a Rollercoaster from Ace. The last two men fought for a long time afterwards, and after multiple finishers, the Accelerator was finally beaten, as Rage became the true Heavyweight Champion. The Accelerator became the Hardcore Champion by pinning Handy Man during the match.

The Accelerator's run in the ICWF truly showcased his talents. He fought the greatest wrestlers in the world month after month, with a title reign that would make guys like Bruno Sammartino proud. His strength and agility in the ring made him both a fan-favorite and the heel you love to hate. Ace's 8-month Heavyweight Championship run sets in the ICWF record books as the longest active reign of any wrestler. Does he deserve to be in the ICWF Hall of Fame? You'd better believe it.
