Purity Before Marriage
Lyndsey Breard, daughter of Mike and Colette Breard, saw a need to encourage her college age peers to save sex for marriage and found an answer in a California based organization called Purely Committed. Breard, a junior at Louisiana Tech, and a group of ten young women from ULM and Tech are coordinating this area's first One Knight Only banquet to be held April 26, 2003, at the Monroe Civic Center Fort Miro Room at 5 p.m.
Keynote speakers will be Miss America 1997 Tara Dawn Christensen and Jason Guy, a participant in the reality TV series Big Brother. Tickets are $10 per person, for college age girls only. To register log on to oneknightonly.com. Attendees should register by April 5.
Purely Committed was founded in September 2001, by college senior Jaime Rau. The first One Knight Only banquet was held last year in Santa Barbara, California with 250 girls in attendance, and actor Kirk Cameron was the keynote speaker. Over half the attendees made a public commitment to sexual purity until marriage following the banquet.
If you or your company would like to help underwrite the speaking fees as a corporate or individual sponsor, please visit www.purelycommitted.com or contact Lyndsey Breard at 318-387-7738.
