For some companies I have complete fleet lists from inception to closure or up to date and these will be linked from the relevant page of this series when I put them on the internet. In addition I will link from relevant pages to other pages dealing with the company concerned eg the Company's own page if there is one, or to the pages of other researchers dealing with the companies concerned or some aspect of the ships concerned.
All in all I hope the pages will eventually provide a significant research aid.
The pages will show (eventually) the name of the company and, where available, address in 1954, in brackets the names of subsidiary companies, their hull and funnel markings and the type of trade ie passenger, freight, tanker.
For some of the ships I will be able to supply photographs for researchers' own use
If you know the company concerned then this should be reasonably easy, although companies did change names and sometimes use multiple names. If you don't find the company listed then either I have not got around to them or they are listed under a different name.
If you are looking for a particular ship and do not know the company name use my Pinpoint Search Engine from the link below, put in the ship name and see what it comes up with !
From time to time the PINPOINT search engine may not work when work is being done on the host site. In this case please try my PICO search engine below. The PICO search engine may also be more appropriate for some searches as it can be searched for exact phrases or multiple words:-
