"Levan Inaishvili helped considerably in all the early operations of Chalc Culture Center Batumi and with our translations into Georgian!"

English language poetry readings, short drama 'therapy' enacted for 'spontaneous-emotions theater' workouts, to loosen you up, film & video shorts produced together, “street level” local activism journalism training, English language teaching/training, editing of reports and advertisements and documents in English, film watching and criticism, anything fun in English and which might also help the artistic residents of Batumi to enlarge and empower the arts scene in Batumi, even if it means one might have to block the creeping 'overkill' of casino development in Batumi, and create instead real jobs for the people in the streets, and not just poker chips and roulette tables and windy speeches on “democracy-building”.

Bring CULTURE back to Batumi, especially in the wintertime. Help the creative people of Batumi have something to do indoors when it rains all winter long! ARTS ARTS ARTS !! PHOTOS PHOTOS PHOTOS!! [see below]. Help develop the innate and historically-correct cultural side of Batumi! Batumi needs to support its local artists and writers and dancers and musicians, like New York City and San Francisco and London nurture their street artists and performers. Bringing "pop" divas like Beyonce and one-song wonders like Maroon-5 will not bring out the creative talent of Batumi natives nor please her more artistic visitors & tourists. A renaissance of fine arts in the streets, is the magic solution to make Batumi an emergent cultural capital of the Black Sea Region. Improve your English skills written and spoken and in singing, and acting, and in journalism too, here at CHALC Center Batumi. Call or email today and sign up for lessons and tutoring.

Georgian local female vocalists will soon be singing THIS soulfully on the boardwalk and streets of Batumi! click here for a taste of REAL street soul...

Georgian local Batumi performers will start to challenge skills of even this drummer, who only needed two sticks and some empty buckets to be as good as any millionaire pop celebrity! click here --but warning-- this guy will BLOW YOUR MIND!

Important notice to Batumi creative people who are learning English. Peter Coyote in the 1960s and 1970s, won enough money from the State of California, to fund the artists of small towns in California, much like Batumi needs today, similar funding from Georgian Parliament. Today in France, the French government still gives JUST ENOUGH money in grants, for artists to live in cheap apartments and to CREATE. The TLG Teach Learn Georgia program has none of this to offer you, and Peace Corps and USAID will NEVER fund the arts of Batumi. Listen to Peter Coyote, and learn from French Democracy, and you ALSO can get enough money to be an artist and create in Batumi!!

In the year 2017 Batumi had more RUSSIAN tourists bringing lots of money to local businesses than any other nationality, beating Turks, Arabs, Azeris, Armenians, HANDS DOWN! ... no comparison. So many Russians are now enjoying the cosmopolitan Russian friendly airs of Batumi, that it might even be a more important tourist venue for Russians than even Abkhazia, which receives 1.5 million Russian tourists annually. Americans and Germans and French as of yet almost never come here. CHALC Culture House is hoping to change this!

From Der Spiegel magazine:
It does’t happen too often that a book will be presenting a restaurant. Even rarer are books about restaurants. Even if they are so well known and iconic as the restaurant Lommerzheim in Cologne Deutz district. Hardly surprising that now a book of history and stories around this pub & diner written by its guests who call it caringly "Lommis", this Kölsch pub is presented in book form now. Because of its many fans, in Cologne and guests from around the world, who have been waiting for such a book. And many have worked on it: From the publishers - the Urkölner and Lommigast decades -- Norbert Bergrath and Markus Werker – along with more than forty text and image authors, including the American Bryan Adrian, who all contributed their memories, and numerous visual documents which have been published in the Bonner Pellens publisher’s treasure trove.
