Captain Brian Lukas
Race: Human
Rank: Captain
Was one of only 5 Starfleet Officers to ever be awarded Commander Rank during graduation ceremonies from Starfleet Academy. This was a great distinction based upon his leadership skills demonstrated during training, his astute abilities in the areas of crew management, and for unwavering courage above and beyond the call of duty when his Cadet Training Squadron came under attack by rogue mercenaries. Then Cadet Lukas took command of his team after Red Squad Leader was destroyed, and with unswerving valor faced down the pirates for 3 full hours, refusing it to proceed and then further disabling it when it attempted to leave, holding it at bay until a Federation Starship could arrive.
Brian Lukas caught the attention of Captain Morgan Bateson who had been restored to command not long after being rescued from a time anomaly. Commander Lukas was given a 2-year probationary period aboard the newly built USS Boseman where his abilities were tested time and time again even though he was only a training observer.
Commander Lukas never served as XO aboard any starship, Captain Bateson was so impressed with this young officer, at the end of his probationary period he was immediately recommended for command, and only a month after departing the Boseman, he took command of the USS Freedom patrolling the Neutral Zone.
Commander Lukas never forgot his encounter with the Rogue Mercenaries as a Cadet, and because of this developed an astute abilities as a Border Patrol Commander, in the footsteps of his mentor Captain Bateson. This expertise proved useful time and time again to prevent several border infiltration into the Neutral Zone. He is the only Commander of his era to be awarded the Romulan Badge of Excellence.
The USS Freedom was called to Wolf 359 and was subsequently destroyed. Lukas and 3 other officers escaped the devastation unharmed and managed to elude the Borg. The rest of the crew of the Freedom were lost, including Captain Lukas' XO and very dear friend. Without a ship and without a command, and with a new fire burning in his heart against the Borg, he helped develop numerous new weapons systems explicitly to be used against Borg technologies. When the USS Raven was conceived, and Lukas heard of her unique Borg fighting capabilities and mission, he immediately put in a request to take part in the redesign of the Nebula Class starship, with secret hopes of being awarded the distinct honor of command aboard such a vital weapon against the Borg.
When a command officer was considered for the helm of the USS Raven, StarFleet could think of no more fitting officer than Captain Brian Lukas. This was to be the pinnacle of his career and turned out to be one of the best appointments StarFleet had made during that era. Lukas immediately used the Nebula (A) to drive back numerous Borg incursion attempts into Federation Space, Romulan Space, and Klingon Territories.
PERSONAL FACTS:
Lukas rescued a Starfleet Officer from the Borg, and the two officers forged an immediate friendship. To Lukas it was almost as if the spirit of his XO from the Freedom had been reborn in this new officer, he made him his XO amid much controversy and much protest. One thing both officers shared was an extreme distaste for the Borg. Lukas was able to utilize the determination of his first officer (though sometimes a bit overzealous and misguided he might have been) and always turned their combined dislike for the Borg into a workable plan of action.

Name: Alice Rhoades
Species: Human
Rank: Lieutenant Commander
I, Lt. Alice Rhoades worked at Starbase 197 as part of the operation department. Under the command of Captain Brian Lukas on the Freedom. I met Captain Lukas on one of his much deserved shoreleaves. We liked each other on the spot. As soon as the U.S.S. Raven was built, Captain Lukas requested Lt. Rhoades to be assigned to the U.S.S. Raven as Operations Officer. I have enjoyed this assignment and hope to continue serving under his command.
I am a reliable, compassionate person. At times I can be opinionated but only when I believe it is for the good of society.I can be humorous at times and I love new adventures.
