The Hellbound Heart begins with a man too curious for his own good. He learns that curiosity does indeed kill the cat when he tempts fate by playing with the unknown. The entrance of the Cenobites was awe-inspiring. I could envision them in my head quite clearly; I could smell the fear, and could imagine him masturbating on the floor. Kirstie's character was my favorite. Clive made her feel for the characters the way planned: You hated Julia with a vengence, were captivated by the Cenobites - whose secrets have never been revealed from print - and disgusted by Frank. Blood and gore enter this one quite a bit. Not really scary scary, but tingly fear.
Erin gives this book a five
Carrie - Carrie was a fair book, although I must admit that I was dissapointed with the end. The beginning was interesting, and it worth it learning all about the power Telekenesis. I hated that she plotted to kill her mother, for some reason I wanted her to remain the victim. Maybe because I had only known her character that way.
Erin gives this a two.
Vittorio sees his whole family destoyed by the vampires. Ursula was among them. By her decree alone, he was left alive because she had fallen in love with him. Vittorio vowed to see all the vampires destoyed as his family was. He finds a town who willing feed their sick, handicapped, elderly, and even children to the court of vampires to the north. Vittorio views the vampire court, the "coop" where the victims are held until they become the main course of a feast, and all vile activities. Vittorio gets Mastema, the angel who can avenge, and a few guardian angels to help him into the vampires' lair and to slaughter all. Only one vampire survives.
Here is a story where you are on Vittorio's side for vengence before seeing a cruel twist of fate. You will sympathize with Vittorio before he is transformed, as well as, after.
***If you enjoyed "Pandora" you will love this one even more! A masterpiece of work! Very highly recommended! Warning: Much gore.***

Bloch takes you on a new and exciting adventure with Norman Bates, who has now spent many years in a penitentiary. Two nuns decide to visit the hospital, and reunite them with God. The staff leader allows one nun to visit Bates ( She had a degree in Psychology and learned about his case ). When the staff head leaves them alone momentarily, Norman kills the nun, rapes her, and dresses in her uniform to escape.
He goes after Sam from part one and the horror begins there. Bloch writes so well you are incaptivated from page one. His thrills and chills delight you with every page. It's hard to put this one down.
