Hubert Le Roux, his death, and his children:

Within the registry of Notre-Dame parish of Montreal Qc, one may find the baptism act registry of the three children of Hubert Le Roux: two daughters Charlotte and Jeanne and one son under the name of Jean.

Hubert Le Roux was taken away prematurely from his family after only eight years of marriage. One may see his burial act within the same parish of Notre-Dame of Montreal registry under the date of October 12 1681. Hubert was thirty-five years old and he was in Canada for a period of ten years (more or less).

His widow, Anne-Marie Van Zeigt was twenty-four years old only, and was left with three very young children: Anne-Charlotte six years old, Jean three years old, and Jeanne three months old only.

The following year, Anne-Marie did remarried in Montreal to Gabriel Cardinal, from which she mothered another son. The three Le Roux children were brought up and lived and aged in the house of Gabriel Cardinal with their step-brother Jean Cardinal and it lasted until 1692 when their mother Anne-Marie separated from Gabriel Cardinal. At this very time, Hubert’s children were placed under guardianship to a man named Lory.
