Darth Sidious is the mysterious sith lord that seems to be behind many plots.
It was he that induced the Trade Federation to attack naboo. It was he who ordered
Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan destroyed, along with the entire Gun-Gan population.
Sidious has a strange knowledge and power in the senate. He seems to know all about
Amidala, though he is proved wrong. For another interesting reason, his power in the senate
grew when Palpatine was elected chancellor.
In the tradition of others before him, Sidious took on a sith apprentice. The apprentice
was called Darth Maul, however he was defeated by the jedi, after killing Qui-Gon. Obi-Wan, enraged
furiously fought, and eventually destroyed Darth Maul.
