I wrote to hasbro recently, who is distrubuting Teletubby products in North America. Of course I'm sure you all know about the very cute talking dolls here in Canada and USA. I have Tinky Winky and Po and my brother has Dipsy. In Canada, I got them at Zellers, but i'm sure they're at Toys R Us and other places. I paid about $36.99 when they first came out and a week later they were down to $29.99. And, recently Warner Brothers and PBS came out with two Teletubby videos - "Here come the Teletubbies" and "Dance with the Teletubbies." In Canada, they cost $9.99 and are Wal Mart, Zellers and BiWay stores. And of course there are Teletubby clothing for babies and in the JC Penny Christmas catalogue there is a few Teletubby things including Po and Laa Laa costumes.

Also, simliar to the Teletubby talking dolls, Zellers now has just dolls, they're smaller but equally as cute. Sears also has these in their wishbook..

Anyway here is what Hasbro wrote back to me:

Thanks for your interest. The Teletubbies should be in Toys R Us and FAO Schwartz, Wal-Mart and K-Mart. In addition, other retail stores will get their shipments by fall. We understand, that because of their popularity, they may be difficult to obtain but we are shipping as quickly as possible to meet the demand. They are not being sold directly through Hasbro. There are different products available, and prices vary.

NEW: This morning on Energy Radio they said they had heard about the Po talking doll saying bad words. Now i don't know how highly publicized this was, but they claimed that after po says "feidi feidi feidi feidi, she says "bite my bum" I don't think that's true, she says maa maa maa. If you wanna hear the bite my bum thing i suppose you could, but in reality she's not saying bad words and feeding insults into the minds of innocent children or in my case teenagers.

As you will have read up a bit, there are two Teletubbies videos in North America, "Dancing with the Teletubbies" and "Here come the Teletubbies" I have both of these videos and I think that Here come the Teletubbies is better than the dancing one. Now for younger children they may like the dancing one better because they get to move around and learn to dance like the Teletubbies. In any case, they're cheap and funny to watch anyway.
