My name is Kearya and i live in Concord California and would love to be on
your website
My name as you already know is Kearya. I am 15 (16 in June) and i am a
sophmore In high school. I am on the Varsaty Cheerleading squad, and treasure
of the BSU (black student union) at my school. I try to be as active as
possible. I do have a boyfriend we have been together for about 3 years
now-man too long. I do volunteir work durning the summer at elder homes,
disabled childerns camps, and childrens day care centers.
When i was i used to hate being different. I used to always ask God
why me? But now i realize that there isn't much i could do about it, i had to
learn to accept myself for who i was and the gift that God had given me. WOW!
i never thought i would say gift...once upon a time was conviced that being a
person with albinism was if anything a curse.In elementary none of the other
kids would ever play with me. "Your too white to play with us."they would
tease. It was horrible! I was definatly an outkast. So when i entered Junior
i wanted to change so i did. and at first i didn't think i could, because in
6 th grade it was the same looks, stairs, and stupid comments as in
elementry, but i hung in there and i was determined to change. I made lots of
new friends and by 7th grade i was in the "in" crowd and i was known by
everyone! and i mean EVERYONE! Yup that albino girl was me. that was
definately my best school year. But i had succeed in fulfilling my goal. Then
yet agian i had to go throough it all agian when i entered 9th. I hate
changeing schools that's the worst thing for me! Well, anyway, by the end of
the year i was so sick of all the looks, and stairs, that i asked my science
teacher if i could do an oral report on albinism in all of his classes. He
was so pleased with my reports that he gave me a lot of extra credit.Plus it
informed a lot of people who didn't even know albinism exsisted. The stairs
reduced and the looks stopped and people began excepting me for who i was.
And even though i'm still known as that "ONE ALBINO GIRL" i am determined to
make a diference.So i do everything/anything a person could imagine. and most
importantly i have learned how to love myself which has allowed other to love
me as well. Well so sorry if this was boaring but you asked for it .:-)
