I believe that dreams fall into three basic categories: Those from God (There are instances of God explaining and revealing things to people in scripture. If you yourself have any you think might be from Him, I recommend looking for scriptural corroboration, without which I would be leary), those from the devil (as a means of deception), and those which are simply the weird and wonderful workings of our subconscious minds (sorting through the events of the day, working out our plans for the future, or at play while our bodies rest). I've spent what seemed like entire nights dreaming that I was stocking shelves (one night with bleachers full of girls applauding [when I worked at K-Mart]), re-running the same lessons to kids over and over with a thousand little variations (when I first started teaching), and playing whatever video game I was trying to master at the time (I can remember more than once figuring out a solution to a problem I was having getting through a certain part). I rarely remember my dreams anymore, and sometimes wonder if I'm not better off! I do miss flying and running like a wolf, though.
I think that often times some parts of our dreams leak out in our waking moments when we produce art, music, and poetry. Since I don't believe in reincarnation (Heb. 9:27 says, "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgement"), I think they are the source of one component of what most people are experiencing when they refer to "deja-vu" (the other component being a hyper-awareness of a particular moment in time). If we don't dream, we go mad...There's a thought to keep you awake nights!!!
At any rate, this part of my site is devoted to dreams of the literal and figurative kind. I hope your visit is remembered as a dream-come-true, and not a nightmare!
