An Artical About Daisy Berkowitz
Feburary 1997 Metal Edge
ROCK ON THE RISE section
For more than five years, Scott Mitchell-Putesky was a
founding member and musical force behind Marilyn Manson,
writing the bulk of their major label debut, Portrait
Of An American Family, performing on Smells Like
Children, and contributing healthily to the writing
and recording of Antichrist Superstar. But in the
spring of '96, the artist then known as Daisy Berkowitz
left the Manson family, and after a brief sojourn from
the spotlight, has returned with a project of his own,
Three Ton Gate. The independently released
Vanishing Centuries features the transplan to
South Florida tackling the music and vocals solo, save
for two tracks featuring female lead Tyreah James, and
and sending a bold statement to any and all willing to
listen:Regardless of the past, his sights are set on
the future, and Vanishing Centuries leaves no
reason to doubt that the future is golden for the
former spooky guitarist. Featuring material that ranges
in delivery from the dark and haunting "Honor"-as eerie
a peice as we've yet to hear from the 29 year old
songwriter-to "X Files Girl"-which turns the pop up a
notch with James offering a Shirley Mansonesque Garbage
hue to noticeable more upbeat, yet equally infectious,
material-the seven-track CD charts the course for a
brilliant new chapter in Putesky's career. Released
October 31, Vanishing Century is available
for $14, through the Internet only, via Putesky's
Three Ton Gate website:
