Posted by Kathy Miescke-Tellstrom on Sun, 25 Oct 1998 Surname: KAEDING, PUHL, GARBE, MIESCKE, ZAMZOW, GEILER, MUENCHOW, ERDMAN, LOWENBURGER, HEUER, MEHLS, ROGERS, RANDALL
Forward:
Bertha Kaeding was quite a woman. She married Friedrich William KAEDING who was a widower with eleven children and proceed to care for his children and adding eight more children of their own. Heinrietta PUHL was Friedrich KAEDING's first wife. The following obituary only mentions one of her step children, Mrs. Eleanore "Laura" GARBE since the other ten were deceased by 1957. Imagine that! Bertha and Friedrich KAEDING had a daughter named Helen who married Gust MIESCKE, my grandparents. Helen died due to childbirth leaving the five young MIESCKE children motherless. The then grandmother, Bertha KAEDING, cared for her daughter, Helen (KAEDING) MIESCKE's, five children. Bertha ZAMZOW KAEDING left an incredable legacy.
