My Moore Ancestors
From Jefferson County, Alabama
- to Ellis County, Texas
- to Coleman County, Texas
- to Yuma County, Arizona
The Moore's left Morris, Jefferson County, Alabama and traveled to Ellis County,
Texas, in the 1890's. M. C. Moore, my grandfather, married Matilda Skelton
in Palmer, Texas. They moved, with their extended families, to Coleman County,
Texas, near a settlement called Voss. They lived in Voss until the early 1920's
when they moved their family (5 children) to Yuma, Arizona. M. C. worked in
construction and farmed. Their 6th child was born in Yuma.
